The best way to eat an elephant, the saying goes, is one bite at a time. (We're not endorsing elephant-eating here; we just like metaphors, so stick with us.) Home organization works very much the same way--the prospect of transforming a whole room can be too intimidating for some, so we recommend taking it one small project at a time. In that spirit, and in the spirit of new year's resolutions, here are several ways to start off your year with a sense of accomplishment...
Drawer Organization

We all have at least one drawer that seems to defy organization. It could be a kitchen utensil drawer, a bathroom drawer, an office supply drawer, a dresser drawer, or a junk drawer. But finally organizing that pesky drawer would be a positive way to start off the new year. (Plus, most drawers don't take more than half an hour to organize, so it's an easy win!)
Toy Storage

Organizing toys can be an overwhelming proposition--particularly right after the holidays--so start small. Try organizing one type of toy at a time; you could start with board games, LEGO, dolls, or stuffed animals. Instead of tackling the entire playroom in one go, break it up into smaller, more attainable projects and go from there. (And don't hesitate to ask the kids to help!)
Bathroom Storage

Like the playroom, the bathroom should also be broken down into smaller organization projects. Great areas to start in include the medicine cabinet, countertop, linen closet, and under sink cabinets. And like a messy drawer, some of these troublesome spaces can be tidied up in only half an hour!
Shoe Storage

Shoe storage isn't exclusively a closet issue. Many people prefer to kick off their shoes near an entryway, in a mudroom, or even in the garage. Depending on your preferred storage area, we offer a variety of organization solutions ranging from shoe boxes to racks and shelves, and many can be stacked or adjusted to fit spaces both big and small.
Garage Storage

Because the garage often functions as a kind of playroom for the grownups in the house, you might want to take a similar approach to organizing it. Start with a certain type of item (such as hand tools or sports equipment), take an inventory, figure out what to keep or donate, and then choose a solution that best fits both the size of your space and how you use it. The end result will be incredibly satisfying!
Remember: if you get overwhelmed, we're here to help you through it!
