It's a common belief here at The Container Store that, much like the people who use them, all closets are unique in their own ways. While most are primarily used for clothing, many of them perform double--or even triple--duty by serving as homes for toys, games, laundry items, and even cleaning supplies. Because no two spaces are exactly alike, it's vital they all have storage solutions tailored specifically to their users' individual needs.
While our Elfa, Avera, and Laren systems are all wonderfully customizable ways to transform a messy closet, sometimes all a person needs is the right selection of bins, baskets, or boxes to do the job. It can be quicker and easier than you think! To demonstrate this, several of our Brand Ambassadors recently embarked on closet organization projects of their own, and they've shared the results with us below.

To keep her beautiful built-in closet shelves tidy, mom and recipe blogger Alice Choi added several storage products that instantly fit right in. She uses our Linen Cambridge Drop-Front Sweater Boxes to not only keep those cardigans and pull-overs easily accessible, but also to prevent them from stretching out on a hanger. For purses and other "odds and ends," she also brought in a Linen Cambridge Purse Storage Bin and several Cotton Rope Bins with Snap Handles. "[And] it might seem like a small thing, but I also got the Natural Slim Wood Hangers," Alice adds. "What a difference it makes to have matching hangers! I love them!"

Professional organizer Rachel Dickerson also embarked on a built-in closet organization project. In her case, it was a shared walk-in closet belonging to her sister, who had recently purchased a new home. "A NEW home sometimes means NEW things, and [The Container Store] provided just that!" she says. Rachel and her sister opted for a more natural, neutral color palette. She got to work tidying up with an assortment of products that included Natural Montauk Woven Storage Bins, Woven Paper Bins, White Slim Wood Hangers, and White Wooden Pant/Skirt Hangers. The client's shoes were tucked below the hanging clothes in Linen Cambridge Drop-Front Boxes, and jewelry items were neatly displayed using the Yamazaki Tosca Necklace Stand, Earring Organizer, and Bracelet Bar. "The jewelry stands are very homey and natural," Rachel says, noting the "simple, classic touches" that absolutely delighted her sister.

"As an avid sneakerhead, one of the things I've always done was to keep my original shoe boxes," says fashion & lifestyle blogger Chante Williams. "This really felt like a good idea at the time because I knew exactly which shoe went with each box, but [The Container Store's] Drop-Front Shoe Boxes turned out to be an even better way for me to organize my shoes!" Now, the shoe boxes' clear doors allow her to instantly find the pair of kicks she wants to wear, and they stack securely to conserve floor space. Or, she can display them by stacking the boxes in a fun stair-step pattern (as seen in the photo above). "The drop-front opening takes away the need to unstack boxes to get the pair you want," Chante notes. "My shoe collection keeps growing, and I love how stylish and creative I can get with these boxes!"

Another fan of the Drop-Front Shoe Boxes is professional organizer Janelle Cohen, who calls them her "absolute favorite product" from The Container Store. "They are modular and stack together so you can really maximize your space while keeping your shoes in perfect condition!" she raves. In her own space, she opted to stack them on the top shelf, utilizing them for her collection of heels. "I had to have them for my new closet because the shelf was so tall, and I didn't want to waste the vertical space," she explains. "Drop-fronts to the rescue!"
