Ever since it began in 1973, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House has been a unique and special event showcasing the redecorating work of some of the top interior designers in the country. This annual event benefits the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, and has raised millions of dollars for children's after-school and enrichment programs.

For the third year in a row, the event featured a showhouse in Dallas, and we were honored to participate as a sponsor once again. (The Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas event also benefited two local charities: Dwell with Dignity, a nonprofit agency dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty, and The Crystal Charity Ball, another Dallas-based organization whose mission is to aid, support and make contributions to children's charities in Dallas County.) With the help of 24 amazing designers and architects, a beautiful and sprawling home in Dallas's Old Preston Hollow enclave was transformed into a marvelous showhouse.

The Container Store's contribution was, of course, to the home's primary closets. Working with interior designer teams Huma Sulaiman Design and Schooler Kellogg, we created two inspirational custom spaces: a "His" Primary Closet, as well as a "Hers" Closet and Sitting Room. Both spaces utilized our luxurious new Preston closet line.

For the Hers Closet and Sitting Room, designers Ann Schooler and Amelia Milton wanted a romantic space fit for displaying elegant clothing, almost like a museum. They started with Preston's Fawn finish and sparkling glass-front cabinets. For added elegance, the cabinets and drawers surrounding the custom niche with settee were wrapped in EcoDomo recycled leather in a beautiful Shargreen White. Warm LED lighting was used both vertically and horizontally to highlight the space.

Preston's Fawn finish gives the space a bright and elegant feel.

Glass display shelves and cabinets, as well as carefully chosen accessories, help give the closet its museum-like atmosphere.

For the His Primary Closet, designer Huma Sulaiman wanted a moody and modern space with a sexy feel. Preston in Midnight proved to be the perfect backdrop for the dramatic glass-front cabinets with vertical and horizontal LED lighting. The focal point of the space is a floating bar/credenza wrapped in EcoDomo recycled leather in coal crocodile featuring push-to-open drawers and a waterfall-style top and sides.

Preston's integrated LED lighting helps counterbalance the darker, more "masculine" feel of the Midnight finish and provide much-needed warmth to the closet.

The His Primary Closet also includes a comfortable sitting area.

The closet's shelves and drawers include plenty of stylish and functional organization accessories.
