Best Storage on the Market
I am a vendor at Antique Shows and Flea Markets. Needed easy to use Safe, Waterproof storage to transport my stock. The variety of sizes and stack-ability make this product perfect and yes, they really are weathertight! Love them and own several, will purchase more as needed.

These are weathertight NOT watertight.

Disappointed
I purchased these totes two weeks ago. First off the handles were broken on two of them. I made the decision to keep them anyway. I placed my fragile Christmas decorations in the totes. The next morning when I wanted to rearranged the totes. I noticed a crack in one of them. These totes are cheap and not worth the money.

Above and beyond!
I bought this product with the idea of using it to pack cooking pans/utensils for when we go camping. It works great. I can put one big pan and a little one in there. With two pans inside, there is still plenty of space for other camping necessities. Best part, is that is is weatherproof, so we can leave the storage box outside and over night, with everything inside being nice and clean.

Save your money and buy something else
I meant to write this review over a year ago, but I just moved again and got annoyed enough again to finally write this review. I bought a ton of these in different sizes sometime last year. I didn’t open them for over a month and when I opened them a few of them were broken. Even if that hadn’t have happened, these are AWFUL storage boxes. They break so easily. You can just pick them up and their handles will break off - not pop, but actually break. Several of them have shattered just by stacking and I only keep photos in them, so they aren’t heavy?? I don’t get it. I don’t understand why the reviews are so good on these, these are awful. I’d save your money and go with something else.

X-Mas in basement smelled fresh 1yr later!!
Used this last year to store my Christmas linens, pillow, etc. All came up this December smelling just as fresh as when I stored them!! Love love love this for just that reason alone!! But also, it’s lightweight, the sidelocks are sturdy, and the wicking (not sure what that padded layer is called) stayed puffy over the year!! I also love the wheeled and pull features!! Originally bought it 3 years ago to transfer my sewing machine to friends’ houses - excellent for that purpose too! Made a heavy machine much easier to transport!!

Not shipped well
I ordered 2 of these containers online. When I received them one was fine and. works well. On the second one the lid was broken. So far I haven’t gotten a reply back from Customer Service to see if it will be replaced. If it’s replaced I’ll be happy with my purchase.

Great for airtight storage!
I have two of these that I use for dry box for storing my 3D printer filaments. About to get one more (can never have too many filaments!). Since the contents I'm storing have to be protected from humidity from the air, I wanted something airtight that will maintain a good dry atmosphere inside. These totes, combined with 5 lbs of silica gel per tote, make for an effective combination. My only complaint is one of the totes shipped with a loose snap that won't reattach. Makes it a little less airtight, but is still usable for storing plain PLA which isn't as demanding about humidity. Overall very satisfied, would definitely recommend!

Latches don’t work - not watertight!
I purchases 5 of these and the latches only snap shut on 2! Really poor quality and not functional. Definitely not watertight

Chemical smell
While these are air tight, my case arrived directly from the manufacturer greasy, smelling of petroleum and with stickers that were almost impossible to remove. There was a lot of effort to get them clean enough to store items that would have smelled and stained otherwise.

Broken latches
I ordered several of the weathertight totes. Two of the latches on the 30 qt. size were in the bottom of the box. When I tried to put them on I was very disappointed to notice that the nibs do not fit in the holes on both latches. Having a bin with only 2 of 4 latches defeats the purpose of a weathertight tote. I have tried repeatedly to reach The Container Store without success.

Perfect for storing freeze dried meals
I bought the 19 qt. size to store packages of freeze dried meals, both for backpacking and for emergency food storage. They fit perfectly! Two photos are attached. One photo shows two boxes filled. One box contains 13 dinners (2 servings each). The other box contains 15 breakfasts (7 are 2-serving sizes; 8 are 1-serving). The second photos shows 4 boxes stacked, with a tissue box to make it easier to understand the size. I will add labels so I can clearly see what's inside each.

Great tote!
I ordered two totes in this size to use for storing holiday decor outside in our shed, they work amazing! We live surrounded by woods, so mice are always a concern, these totes have done their job and keep everything fresh and mouse free.

Faulty latch and foam seal
These totes are extremely expensive and the latches are of extremely poor quality. On each of the 2 totes we purchased, one latch has a defect -- it does not stay in the latch's hole, nor does it clip on correctly. You can tell by the feel of the latches that any of them will pop off or stop working.
The foam liner is too long and also defective. It was separated from the lids at arrival, and will not go back into the slot correctly as the foam is too long. No matter how you press it in, there is extra foam which creates a gap and it pops back out of the lid.
Considering the price of these totes, I am extremely disappointed in the quality and the defects. We waited so long for them we cannot immediately return them as we are in the middle of a move.

Looks good, except decals do not come off
Everything seems fine with these storage bins. Size is good. Most importantly, the foam seal looks like it will do a great job sealing. But I was really bummed to find when I unpacked and cleaned them, that the product decals do not peel off well, leaving 50% of the decal - just peeling off the top paper. The adhesive is also not water-soluble. So unless I take further measures (oil soak, risk goo gone, etc), the residue will be there and get gross. While I understand just how first-world this problem is, we're talking about a fancy storage box, from a store that specializes in containers and organizers. Among the first-worldest categories ever. And I thought we were over this label thing like 10 years ago, except on the very lowest quality products.

No longer watertight
I purchased two of these boxes to.keep items dry in my humid outdoor storage. After stacking the two boxes for a few months, I noticed that the lid of the one on the bottom had settled lower or warped in such a way that the latches were no longer tight. So, without the pressure of the latches on the seal around the lid, the box is no longer watertight, and the latches flop open.

Great weather tight bins
I first bought them to store my seasonal clothes and then went back and got more. I love the idea that are weather tight and very durable. I use the black ones so it doesn’t look messy from outside. It is nice that they have different size options for different storage purposes. I am gradually replacing all my bins with these.

Great storage for safe keeping
I love these clear weathertight totes. I've moved a lot of very old papers and photos from my mother's house to my own home, which is in a more humid climate. These are perfect for keeping everything dry and safe. I also appreciate the fact that they are clear so I can easily identify the contents in each tote.

Love These Containers
I purchased these containers and replaced all of my other plastic bins that mice, bugs and condensation were able to penetrate. So far, nothing has gotten into these! They are on the pricy side but well worth the extra dollars. After all, if something is worth saving, it's worth protecting!

Perfect Christmas Storage!
I used a combination of these boxes to completely re-pack all of my Christmas onto garage shelves.
•The Weathertight File Boxes worked perfectly with The Container Store light reels, & were sturdier than the storage boxes they were originally paired with.
•The record storage boxes with coordinating plastic ornament trays were perfect for ornaments
•The other varieties of boxes were ideal for all of the other indoor/outdoor Christmas decorations & cords

Nice bins that do NOT stop high humidity entry
My home has limited closets so I have built some shelving in the garage as well as a separate vented outdoor storage unit (attached to the house). The garage humidity can get high but the storage unit is frequently very high - often times 80% - 98% RH.
Mold can grow above 55% RH and thrives in 70%+ RH.
Two times in the past year, I have pulled standard non-weathertight bins out of storage to discover mold on clothing, Christmas decorations, and SCUBA gear.
Then I found myself here looking at this product. Ordered a couple dozen bins. Placed a temperature & humidity sensor in a Weathertight storage bin and placed the bin in the storage unit. Placed a second sensor in the storage unit but not into the bin.
I was hopeful - during the first four days of having the Weathertight storage, the RH stayed between 57% and 68%, despite the environment being 63% to 90%. The bin was a bit higher and more volatile than desired, but that was a dramatic improvement and could probably be addressed with appropriately sized silica gel packets.
The next day, it rained and the storage unit went to 97.5% RH for the night, dropping to 72% 16 hours later. Soon after, it dropped to 64% RH.
Once the environment exceeded 90%, the "sealed" Weathertight bin RH skyrocketed from 68% to 91% over the next 16 hours.
Despite the general environment in the storage unit dropping to 64%, the Weathertight bin has been holding onto the humidity it collected. Two days above 88% RH, despite that being higher than the original level and the surrounding environment much of that time.
Day 3 - we are only down to 84%.
These bins allow moisture in and don't seem to want to let it out.
They would likely be fine for storage in a climate controlled or dry environment - but do not trust them in a high humidity environment - the one and only reason I chose these bins.

Sticker Warning
OK, first of all, there is nothing wrong with these storage containers. They are well made and work.
Unfortunately, they have a major problem with their stickers. Bottom line, they will not come off, especially in the 30 qt. size. Come on. It's 2019. This is unacceptable.
Seriously, I timed myself. It takes 15 minutes to remove ONE sticker. I tried everything. First, you need to soak the sticker with VERY hot water. That helps to remove the outer layer. Then, the goo be gone has to come out, soak again, and scrub, and scrub, and scrub to get the label off.
NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE.

A Great Value
These containers are a great product!! The price is only a portion of the value of these totes. They are the perfect size for so many things. They fit under some beds, stack nicely in closets,and for us they are perfect for storing any and everything under our motorhome.That's really a plus! Airtite and leak proof, can't get any better than that!!

Missing wheels
I bought this a earlier this a number of months ago for transporting bulky costumes. Fast forward to last weekend when I went to load it up for my first event and realized....there's no wheels. Didn't even notice when I purchased it since I carried it out of the store (vs rolling it), and at this point I can't imagine trying to return it after so long. Super disappointed because as far as size/durability/function it was exactly what I was looking for....unfortunately made non-functional by missing the key element.
