MULTI USES!
I've used this product many times before to keep valuables on display in place. Only last week did I use it for plates on a wall! I was so surprised that it didn't stain my wall or the plate hanger. I have a set of three glass plates on display near a door. Needless to say, when the door is shut or slammed a little too hard, everything around it rattles including the plates. Last week I applied museum putty to the back brace of my plate holder. I simply molded it over the brace and allowed it to stick to the wall on its own. Works like a charm! My plates have stayed put without me having to straighten them out every time someone opens or closes the door. LOVE THIS PRODUCT!

A Must for Cat Owners!
I purchased this on a recommendation of a friend. I have a new kitten & this has been wonderful in preventing any breakage of vases, etc. A little bit goes on long way & does a good job. The only surface I had problems with was the hardwood floor (I had a vase with branches on the floor & was trying to secure it, but putty didn't stick).

GREAT stuff!
I was so happy to find that The Container Store carried this item. I love it because I can use it to secure things to the wall without leaving holes or marks. Other putties I've used leave greasy marks, but Museum Putty does not. I use it to keep items in place on shelves as well, and it works wonderfully. I would totally recommend this to anyone who needs to stick something down!

This stuff is the best. You probably don't think you have any reason to need this, but trust me you probably do. I especially love it for my printers box - I use it on all the little trinkets to stay in place and now I never have to worry about fragile items falling out and breaking. Peace of mind.
