Great for storing microgreens!!
I originally bought this 2 years ago for the intended purpose. I would forget that I had herbs or they'd fall in the water so I stopped using it.
Recently started buying fresh microgreens at my father's market. They'd keep in my frig for 2-3 days. Something the vendor said made me wonder if I could repurpose the herb saver to save the tender microgreens. Huge success- they kept for almost 2 weeks. Here's the trick. Fold a paper towel and put in the bottom where you would normally put water. Loosely fill the cage with your greens. Don't overpack. Before putting lid on fold another paper towel and lay it over the basket. Put the lid on and stick in the frig.
When I want some microgreens or a smoothie or a salad or just to nibble I just take the lid off and pull out the amount of greens I want. I'm thinking about buying a second one to store larger microgreens separately.
This technique might work for sprouts also. Give it a try. Nothing worse than slimy greens.

Frustrating.
Awesome idea really but everyone in my household has went to grab one of these containers out of the fridge and the lid has popped off on the them spilling our lovely produce all over the floor. This has happened to all 4 of us in my household. We hold on with two hands now very carefully.
OXO, please consider having this container seal.

Amazing for berries
These are so awesome; I can't believe how long berries stay fresh! I kept blueberries in mine for at least two and a half weeks and they stayed exactly the same as when I bought them, no exaggeration! I love that the reminder to change the refill is in the container itself, since I'm about as forgetful as you can be---and the pointer is secure enough that you can't accidentally move it when opening the lid.. One of the best purchases I've made in a while!

Excellent!
These containers work as expected. A few notes:
- The lids to not latch. I imagine this is to encourage airflow. This does not bother me as they are meant for fridge storage at home and not for transport.
- Do not cram items into a smaller container. When in doubt, size up. I had two packs of strawberries in the 5qt container and they lasted for TWO weeks in my fridge. I made sure to wipe out any condensation that began to collect anytime I took some berries out to eat.
- Ensure that the produce you place into these containers is FRESH-- anything you buy at the store that is starting to look past its prime will not benefit from these containers.

Love Oxo Produce Keepers --- Maintain Freshness!
I recommend Oxo Produce Keeper! I have the little 1.6 Qt for fruits, medium for lettuce and kale, and large for long roots such as celery, carrots, and scallions. Note: the celery is too long to fit into the bin---you have to cut them for storage. The Oxo Produce Keeper helps keep all my produce fresher and longer with minimal maintenance after regular wash. Sometimes, I'll stash all my veggies in one container until I have time to wash and re-store them. When tight for space, I've shoved celery, carrots, and scallions in one bin without incident with rot or being smelly. There's an inner basket that separates the produce from touching the food-safe outer container and is a colander. There are two negatives: 1) buying the carbon filters; they last 3 to 6 months---they are worth it to me. 2) The bins are plastic. I have not been able to find anything in glass. I've tried the little greensaver crisper insert, and I don't like them at all. It doesn't work as well as the individual containers. All my fruits and veggies in the Oxo bins last 1-2 weeks longer. I have shared my stash of bins with family and friends.

Lid does not lock
I love the whole idea of this product but was disappointed since the lid does not lock down so no way to transport to work and such. Product fail

Perfect!
I love a good salad and needed a container to keep/preserve my lettuce. My lettuce would go bad 2-3 days after purchasing, which was wasteful. So, I did some research and found the reviews for this container to be convincing. I purchased this container and love it. To my surprise one week and a half after I placed my lettuce in this container and in the refrigerator it remains crispy and fresh. I want to purchase the other two sizes also hoping they will enable other produce of mine to be preserved longer.

Keep food fresh
I LOVE this product. I has saved me money in the short time since I purchased the large Greensaver. We eat a big salad everyday and my greens would go bad in a few days. The large container holds the big plastic box of greens from the grocers. They stay crisp and tasty for at least a week. We are able to finish the entire box without waste.

Fresh produce
Really seems to make a difference in how long my produce stays fresh and crisp. My only regret is that the large lettuce keeper is too big to fit in my refrigerator produce drawer.

Just what we needed !!! We cook a lot of Veggies. We cut them up to be ready to cook and these OXO Greensaver containers have made life much easier. They keep the veggies fresh as the day we purchased them. Thank you !!!

This product actually works as it says.
I used to keep cilantro leaves in a plastic container with a paper towel in as a base to keep them fresh but that helped for a week or so and after that leaves start getting bad but with this product I can store the cilantro leaves for a month just as fresh as I bought. Loved this product.

Really works!
Being honest I was a bit doubtful about this product but now I’m thinking to get more of them in different sizes.
It’s been always headache since we are just two of us over 60 wasting so much fresh produces.

Great for fruit!
These do work! I have bought every size and use them to store all my produce. Large one for lettuce, medium size for cantaloupe, pineapples and the small one for blueberries. What I love most is that it keep the fruit from sitting in its own juices and getting mushy. Only down size is that they do take up a bit of space in your fridge.

Life Changing!!
I hate to be dramatic, but these are LIFE CHANGING! I cannot believe how long they kept my strawberries, blueberries, grapes and blackberries fresh.....WEEKS! I also have been using them for lettuces lately and same thing, freshy-freshy! They are an investment but I think of how much money I was wasting throwing away spoiled food that they are so worth it!

veggie saver!!
When I first bought OXO greensaver Produce Keepers, I thought it was like a gimmick (I bought 1 of the long ones, then a few months later bought a second). I have a hard time getting through all the vegetables quickly (we subscribe to a CSA in this household), I thought any help would be better than what we are doing now. Anything that goes into these containers lasts twice as long than it should. I highly recommend OXO greensaver Produce Keepers to anyone that has trouble getting to their produce.

Freshest of salads
These greensaver produce keepers are amazing. With the vent system, along with the carbon packet, I can combine different salad fixings, making my lunch salads easy and quick to put together. Not to mention, all the fixings stay fresh longer, much longer than my crisper drawers. If you are a salad eater, this product is a must!!!

Love this item!
After being introduced to the OXO produce keepers, I bought myself several sizes as I thrive on fresh fruit and vegetables. Berries of all varieties are some of my favorites and was amazed at how long they stayed fresh.
Since my introduction to OXO, I have bought many as gifts.

Love them
Bought the 4.3 & 5 quart keepers. The smaller one holds 2-3 pounds of grapes and 1-2 pounds of strawberries. The bigger one holds 2 bags of chopped Romaine. Used all up & nothing spoiled. Open 2 more packages to put into keeper when it was empty, but second bag had already spoiled in the bag.
Only downside to these keepers is they’re hard to lift out of refrigerator. There’s nothing to hold onto & even though I have large hands can’t span either keeper. Since I’m handicapped it makes it hard to get them out. An indent on the sides or even handles would mak them perfect.

Cutest Berry Keeper
I've bought two now -each for my daughters who are in college. It is a handy tool that has multiple uses. Not only does it keep those berries fresh but the basket and container can be used multiple ways. My favorite piece is the cheat sheet imprinted on the back side of the slide - it teaches novice produce buyers how to use this product to make fruits and veggies last longer. This product is also made strong - it is not flimsy at all and washes very well.

Fresh Salad Lasts and Lasts
Who knew that greens could stay so fresh for so long? We love having more lunch-time salads now that the large Oxo Produce Keeper has a place in the fridge and the baby spinach, kale and red and green lettuces can live happily there day after day.

More Than Pays For Itself!
My hubby was a doubter on this one but I've more than proven these would pay for themselves. After my mom passed away & I was unexpectedly out of state a month, I came home to find romaine lettuce that was still good! Only tossed a couple outer leaves! There is a handy picture guide on the underside of the sliding lid of the charcoal compartment that shows you how many vent holes to open based on which food items you are storing. Very simple to use! They are kind of big & might not fit inside some crispers, but I can fit a couple skinny romaine bunches or multiple small heads of cabbage in one of the long ones, which I keep on the fridge shelf to remind me to eat salad! Another OXO rock star!

Excellent product
I live in the middle of no where and need food to last awhile. I buy organic fruits and vegetables which tend not to last very long. OXO has helped again to preserve the foods I buy.

These Produce Keepers really work!
I am so happy with how fresh my veggies are staying in these Produce Keepers. I wanted to move my veggies from the crisper drawer in the fridge, where they were "out of sight, to of mind" and spoiling quickly. So I purchased a couple of different sizes of the Produce Keepers and moved my veggies front and center to a shelf in the fridge. What a difference! Carrots are staying crispy, delicate peaches are lasting a lot longer, even a cut bell pepper has stayed fresh now for a few days. Every time I open the lid I wipe down the accumulated condensation, and I think that makes a difference. All in all, a great product.

Worst OXO product
I bought 2 of these (5 qt. and 4.3 qt.) and was very disappointed. They don't work as well as green refrigerator bags and they take up a lot of space relative to what they hold. After I initially tried them I thought the problem may be that the filters they came with were too old so I bought a new box of filters and they didn't work any better.
I've stopped using them but unfortunately I didn't keep receipt or packaging so I can't return.

xmas gift for family!
This container preserved a huge head of lettuce from a farmers market for over 1 MONTH!! It was incredible! Now I'm giving it to everyone in my family for Christmas.
