An actual dad gives tips on what other dads might want

Every year, just like Mother's Day, Father's Day tends to sneak up on you before you know it. That can make last-minute gift-buying difficult, but considering that I am (1) a proud father, (2) the son of a proud father, and (3) a procrastinator, I feel qualified to offer a few suggestions and explain why your paterfamilias might appreciate them.

First, for those of you in a hurry and/or with short attention spans, here's the TL;DR version:

Now, for the rest of you who are still on board, let's get started...

AURA Digital Picture Frames

We fathers LOVE to both look at and display pictures of our kids. With an Aura Digital Picture Frame, your dad can easily create his own personalized photo slideshows--the free AURA photo app makes it super easy--and display his favorite family photos at home or at the office. Plus, there's no storage limit or subscription to worry about. (And if your old man isn't the tech-savvy type, you can set it up for him!)

Crafthouse by Fortessa Barware

Does your pops make a mean cocktail? Does he wax his mustache? Instead of thinking about the Roman Empire, does he often fantasize about violating the Volstead Act in a 1920s-era speakeasy?

If the answer of any of those questions is "yes," check out our truly impressive bar essentials from Crafthouse by Fortessa. This stylish collection, which includes glassware, mixing sets, bottle openers, ice buckets, and even a smoking cloche, was created with the help of bartending champion Charles Joly, and is sure to help dear old dad up his beverage game.

Garage+ by Elfa Solutions

For fathers who love tinkering with tools or doing yard work, there is often a significant chance that his garage or workspace is messy. If that's the case with your father, consider a Garage+ by Elfa storage solution. He might not be ready to go full-on Jason Kelce with his space quite yet, but an easy-to-install option like a wall rack for gardening gear or sports equipment, a pegboard for tools, or a steel storage cabinet will go a long way towards making his time in the garage more enjoyable. (Especially when he can spend more time doing what he loves and less time finding lost tools!)

LAFCO Candles and Diffusers

Let's take a moment to bust an oft-held stereotype wide open. The idea that men aren't necessarily into fragrant candles and other sweet-smelling stuff is, quite frankly, ridiculous and borderline offensive. People with smell sensitivities aside, what kind of person WOULDN'T want a home that smells nice?

If pleasing aromas happen to be right up your dad's alley, check out our candles and diffusers from LAFCO. (In fact, if your dad is NOT into pleasing aromas, that's all the more reason to buy them. Consider it a teachable moment!) Infused with essential oils and encased in hand-blown glass containers, they also look as classy as they smell.

Pet Essentials

It's an old story: the gruff dad whose household adopts a puppy or kitty against his wishes. Said gruff dad insists that he's not an "animal lover" because of the messes they make and says he wants nothing to do with it. Pretty soon, however, this dad is watching TV with this pet in his lap, taking naps with it, and even singing it cute made-up songs when he thinks no one is around.

If this describes your father, we have a great assortment of pet essentials to help strengthen the bond between man and beast. This assortment includes food bowls, leashes, litter boxes, toys, clean-up supplies, and more. These items are not only incredible useful on a day-to-day basis, but are also a great way to tell your dad he's not nearly at tough as he says he is.
