Four simple projects that'll give you a sense of accomplishment

We can all use an easy "win" every now and again, right?

A satisfying win can be anything--catching a green light during your morning commute, a free cup of coffee from a friend, an unexpected but sincere compliment, or even an easy-to-make dinner idea that your kids won't complain about. Whatever it may be, these wins are something we could all use more of from time to time.

No one understands this more than our friend Cas Aarssen, creator of the Clutterbug Method. She recently shared several easy ways to win in the kitchen by accomplishing small organization projects that make a big difference. Each of these projects can be completed in a very short amount of time and the results are sure to put a smile on your face.

Set Up a No-Mess Cereal Station

"Some of the best purchases I've ever made for my kitchen are the OXO Good Grips Countertop Cereal Dispensers and Glass Milk Bottles!" says Cas. "When my children were little, they loved being independent and getting their own cereal, but pouring from the box often equaled a huge mess. This cereal setup ensures NO MESS MORNINGS! Little ones can easily get their own cereal, pour their own milk and feel proud for doing it by themselves. And an added bonus: it keeps your cereal fresher for much longer too." If you have kids who love cereal and you've got a little bit of counter space to spare, you can't go wrong with a cereal station!

Contain Your Containers

For those who have trouble keeping their food container cabinet organized, Cas says the solution is to turn that cabinet into a drawer. "You can turn any cabinet into a drawer with a Chrome Roll-Out Cabinet Drawer," she explains. The drawers' sturdy construction make them suitable for heavier glass containers, and their pull-out mechanism is smooth even when fully-loaded. And the real beauty of this solution is that lids and other small items will no longer get lost in the back of the cabinet. Now, everything is easily accessible with the simple pull of a drawer. "These are easy to install and a great price," she adds. "Stop hunting for the matching lids and get your food storage containers organized for good!"

Tidy Up Your Trash & Recycling Area

As an avid gardener, Cas recently decided to start composting, but she didn't want a compost bin on her kitchen counter. Instead, she opted for our Joseph Joseph Totem Trash & Recycling Bin. "You know you're a real grown up when you get excited about a new trash can!" she gushes. "This system has a removable compost bin, a trash bin and a sorted recycling bin in the bottom--all-in-one! It even has an odor-eliminating cartridge in the lid." Going "greener" has never been easier!

Create a Coffee & Tea Station

Coffee and tea storage methods can vary greatly depending on a person's preferences and their available kitchen space. Luckily, Cas provided examples of three different ways to set up a coffee/tea station--on a countertop, in a drawer, and inside a cabinet. For the countertop station, she used our Marie Kondo Ceramic Bulk Canisters to store the dry ingredients. For the drawer station, she made clever use of a Madesmart Cutlery Tray by rotating it 180 degrees and utilizing the large compartment for coffee pods and the cutlery compartments for tea packets and pods. Then, in her upper kitchen cabinet she took a multi-tier approach by adding Linus Tea Storage Boxes, Marie Kondo Modular Glass Canisters, a Marie Kondo Ceramic Bulk Canister, and a Bamboo Lazy Susan to store various items. In each example, the results are fantastic!
