Recently, our friend Cas Aarssen celebrated Father's Day in a fun and unique way. Instead of getting her father-in-law a typical gift, she decided to surprise her in-laws with a truly astonishing garage makeover. Thanks to a little work and a variety of products from The Container Store, what was once a mess is now a masterpiece of organization!

On the left side wall, Cas created an area dedicated to golf equipment storage. On the wall, a pair of Elfa Utility Pegboards feature an assortment of hooks and bins for storing caps, golf balls, tees, and rain gear. Below the pegboards sits a Heavy-Duty Golf Storage Unit, which neatly secures the in-laws' golf bags and clubs.
Next to that, Cas added a section of Elfa Ventilated Wire Shelves for storing flowerpots and watering cans. The gardening supplies atop one shelf are sorted into Multi-Purpose Bins, and their clear plastic construction makes the contents of each easily identifiable. Between the two lowest shelves, another Elfa Utility Pegboard organizes smaller items such as gloves, trowels, and seed packs. The shelves are flanked by Platinum Elfa Utility Storage Tracks equipped with hooks and holders for hanging larger landscaping tools (rakes, leaf blowers, gardening shears, etc.).
The garage's back wall features another Elfa shelving unit; this one is six-feet-wide. Running along the top is a series of Bracket Hooks used for storing lumber and a shelf designated for a tool box and a series of Black Sterilite Totes. On the wall's middle section are additional Elfa Utility Pegboards with hooks and bins for just about every household hand tool imaginable. Below the Elfa unit, transitioned from wall-mounted Elfa to floor-based Gladiator solutions: the Gladiator Solid Hardwood Work Bench makes an incredibly sturdy DIY space, and a pair of Gladiator Full-Door Modular Gearboxes provide still more hardware storage space.
On the right side wall, Cas made use of an existing heavy-duty shelving unit, but added copious Black Sterilite Stacking Totes. Each is helpfully labeled according to its contents ("picnic coolers," "garden supplies," "bird seed," "camping & trailer," etc.) and neatly placed on the shelves for easy access.
