In observance of Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, The Container Store celebrates the influence, legacy, and impact people of Asian and Pacific Island heritage have had in U.S. history. This broad group includes people of the entire Asian continent, as well as the Pacific island regions of Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.

Celebrated annually each May, Asian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month commemorates the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants to the United States on May 7, 1843. It also marks the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad on May 10, 1869, which was made possible due to the enormous contribution of Chinese workers. What began as a 10-day celebration in the United States has evolved into the month-long observance in the United States and Canada.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the diversity, impact, and contributions of Asian & Pacific Islander Americans by learning more about AAPI history here.
