I recently purchased the kitchen storage shelving, and I am very pleased with the convenience. The assembly was easy and the shelves hold all that I need.

I read the other reviews on these shelves before I bought them. I have a small kitchen and no cabinet space. I ordered the 18x48 shelving kit and it is wonderful! It is large enough to hold a ton of my dry goods and cookware, but small enough to tuck into a corner of the kitchen out of the way. My son and I put it together in less than 20 mins, and we adjusted the shelves to heights that we could use. I have another metal rack but even my son noticed that the InterMetro felt so much sturdier. I can't wait to get the baker's rack too! I have to say the shipping was great too. I live in the boonies and all the pieces were delivered about 3 days after I ordered it.

After comparing shelving options on other sites, we decided to go with InterMetro based on the reviews. We're happy we paid a small amount more and received an excellent value for our $$. The assembly is hassle free, the shelves are sturdy and the look is clean. We set up this unit in our laundry room to hold kitchen appliances (i.e. food processor, mixer, juicer, etc.). It looks super and frees up so much room in our kitchen cabinets. We also purchased the shelf liners and rubber pads. I expect this to last for decades. Loving it!

Need two people to stack the first shelf, afterward it can be a one person job. The shelves are very sturdy and definitely help make room in my cabinets and on my counters. I use it for appliances, pots/pans, baking trays, cutting boards, salad spinner, etc. I always hated storing these things in the bottom cabinets because you have to bend over and remove items before getting the pot/pan/appliance you want. Now I can get them out with ease and no more bending at the waist.
Make sure you get the shelf liners, they're sold separately, so you won't have to worry about anything falling or tilting while on the shelves.

Sturdy, easy to assemble, and versatile. They deliver on their promise and are great for a small apartment with minimal shelf space. I bought these after getting married and discovered I needed a place to put all my awesome new appliances. Having them out and easy to access is a definite plus!

I bought this shelving for my tiny city apartment to store kitchen gadgets, cookbooks, and various other items. I love that it was easy to assemble and it works perfectly. I also really like the fact that you can create your own shelving unit with the variety of different shelves, racks, and tops to make this piece your own and fit it within your decorating style. I would definitely recommend this product to others looking for small space storage and organization solutions.

Bought this unit for my daughter and son-in-law. They have it in their laundry room to use for storage and pantry. It did not come with directions and I did not see they were on the web-site, but my son-in-law was able to put them together quickly and easily using no tools. They look magnificent! They are strong, steady, and functional. I am thinking about buying some for my basement.

I purchased two of the InterMetro Garment Racks and one of the Kitchen Shelves. Although called "Kitchen" shelves, they are a perfect match with the Garment Rack and can be used for clothing (or whatever!). They super easy to put together, sturdy, and look great. Absolutely recommend these!

This InterMetro Kitchen Shelf was purchased specifically for my use. I have many appliances that were buried that I never used because it was too difficult to get out. Now, they are all displayed on my kitchen shelf unit and I LOVE IT!! I accented it with baskets (from the Container Store) and it looks so warm. I have a small kitchen with limited storage so this is PERFECT!! This too was put together in less than 30 minutes and again NO TOOLS NEEDED! I would recommend this product to anyone who needs the extra space to store you kitchen supplies. I am still arranging and rearranging as I just come across so many other things in my kitchen that I want to display.

Our rental home has a poor excuse for a pantry that has been a constant source of frustration; items were ending up stored in the adjacent laundry room. Needing a storage solution, I researched available options and decided on this system. I ordered the white shelves and have been very satisfied. It is very sturdy and went together easily, but it is preferable to have two people for the task. Now I can go into the laundry room without tripping over cases of water, etc. It blends in with the white appliances nicely, and now I can easily see what I have - no more buying duplicates of molasses or olives because I thought we were out!

This shelving system really works, and is quite sturdy. The add ons are genius. A 16 year-old boy, not known for his finesse, put together two units in under an hour. No tools required. A basic instructional sheet would've been helpful.

by Fwossie Wonderful for small kitchens!
We have a teeny kitchen with an awkward layout and almost NO counterspace. It's been a frustration since we moved in, and we finally found the solution with the InterMetro kitchen shelving system. It is a dream come true for all my storage nightmares! I've been able to pull out lesser-used but larger items from storage, like my mixing bowl, breadmaker, and crockpot. And it's strong enough we were able to relocate our microwave to one of its shelves! I haven't even figured out what to do yet with all my extra counter space, LOL! But in the meantime, I'm loving this space-saving addition to our kitchen!

InterMetro shelving has become my office and studio. The sleek styling is strong, modern and totally perfect to hold my art supplies as well as computer, printer and television, cable box and modem. I love the ease in putting everything together, and the fact that a liner is available, makes sure that nothing slips from one shelf to another. This is one of the best products carried by the Container Store, and to me, the Container Store is a shoppers Mecca!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by FLmassage strong material, perfect size
I like the idea of this liner and the material looks sturdy - I just have to wait for the folds to smooth out before I put it up on the shelf - the things I want to put on there aren't heavy enough to flatten it out. The size is perfect and it looks/seems as though it will last & be durable. I may have to let it set outside in the heat for an hour or two with some boards on it to "iron" it out, then clean it before placing it on the shelf. We'll see! If they let me come back in here, I will offer an update in time

I originally purchased these as a pantry shelving for my kitchen since I did not have a dedicated pantry but did have plenty of wall space. They worked great and after our kitchen was remodeled, we moved the shelves to the basement as an entertainment center. The kids toys, electronic and games store neatly on the shelves with bins. We love it.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Rutti2t The shelves are good and sturdy BUT we didn't find assembly quite as "easy" as other reviewers. We bought 2 of these shelves--they arrived in 4 boxes, but no assembly directions were included in any of them! (Later it occured to me to look online.) My husband used to remodel houses so he's good at putting things together, but it took him quite a while to assemble both shelves. That said, they are sturdy and attractive so I'm glad we got them.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Quiltsalot Excellent product!
I bought these shelves for my sewing room. The white color looks really nice with my cutting table, and also helps to lighten up what is otherwise a somewhat dark room. The shelf unit was easy to assemble and is very solid. It will hold far more than I could ever pile on it. My fabrics and related quilting tools and materials now have a tidy home.
My only quibble is that the packing materials intended to hold the shelves during shipment didn't work, so there's a few tiny dings and scratches, but nothing really visible.
Otherwise, I'm very happy with these shelves. I can see that they're going to serve me well for a long time to come.

This is an excellent shelving unit. Sturdy and solid, easy to put together and holds a lot. The black looks great and the paint seems like it would really take a lot to ding or chip. So happy with the purchase, in fact, that we just bought two more for our basement.

I bought 2 of these. One was for a food pantry we started at a local church, and one for a ministry we operate out of our home. They are well-made and have stood up well, even after years of use. They look great and still look like new. I would definitely buy them again.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by LavenderLady Definitely more organized
Our food and appliance storage space if much more organized now with these kitchen shelves. My husband is happy that he can see what we have. I recently bought the InterMetro hooks to put on the shelves to hang one or two kitchen towels. At first I thought the silver color was too dull but it actually is a nice looking color. My only con is that when the shelves were delivered by FedEx, three of the shelves were damaged and we had to return these to the store for replacement. Luckily we have a store in our city otherwise we would have had to send them back.

by lalmon Kitchen uncluttered, part 2
After I bought the 24" tower version of the InterMetro shelving, the more I looked at it, the more I looked on the opposite side of the kitchen, where sat a sort of lumpy wooden microwave cart that also held on its wings my blender, ice cream maker, stand mixer, fire extinguisher, and contractor-sized propane torch. The cart took up four feet of horizontal space, had very limited and nearly useless storage space behind two doors, and offered only awkward access to all but the microwave.
I decided it was time for action. The before and after pictures tell the story. Now I have easy access to all these items, I can use all the appliances and the kitchen scale without having to fetch, rearrange, or climb over things, I finally have a place to put the breadbox I bought ten years ago, and I no longer have to hire small children to retrieve bakeware from the back of that blasted under-counter corner cabinet with the double-jointed door.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Claxter Fantastic pantry solution
Our small kitchen with small cabinets left us wondering where to put most of our supplies. This is the perfect solution. The system is very stable, easy to put together, and holds more than I thought a single unit could. Everything is visible and easy to reach, which is a lot more than I can say for our cabinets. I absolutely love it.

We needed a shelving unit to store our pantry items as well as large bulk items from Costco. We bought the Intermetro unit in white, with shelf liners. It now neatly houses a rather large pantry in a rather small apartment. Easy to assemble, stable, and stable. Highly recommended.

I cannot tell you more how wonderful these shelves
are - I have a few different sizes and they are so easy
to put together it will amaze you! All you need is a rubber
mallet. I had been using my shelves in the kitchen of
my apartment where there was no storage at all and now
they are in my art studio filled with sweater boxes and shoe
boxes of different art supplies. The lines are clean and the
looks are great no matter where you use them! They do hold an
enormous amount of weight without a complaint. I have had mine
for ten years and they are easy to clean, move well without taking apart and, I think, look great no matter what room they are in!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by speeddemon Many years ago, I bought the Metro (silver) shelf and made a "table" out of it. This table has horizontal cross bars that provide structural support to three out of the four sides.
I am a gardener. I start all my plants by seed which requires countless hours of transplanting. Being able to sit at this table is very helpful to me.
The Container Store discontinued the hardware (cross bars) to make "tables". I wish you would bring this back. Thank you for listening.
