Looks great and functions well!If you have brushed nickel hardware in your kitchen like I do, you know how hard it is to find a paper towel holder that somewhat matches. I looked for weeks until I found this one. Like all the other reviews, it looks great, not obtrusive on the counter, comes in one piece so no assembly, and it functions very well. Now that paper towels come in various lengths, you can tear off a small piece or gently pull out and tear off a larger pieces. Just get it! You'll be happy!

Not so perfect kitchen paper towel holder.It didn't work. The ribs apparently had no effect on stopping the towels from being unrolled too quickly. I have an ordinary paper towel holder that works better. FYI, I returned the product.

Not What I ExpectedI purchased this based on previous reviews and it was in the middle of the price range for holders at the store.
When I got it home to use, I knew immediately that I was not going to like it. The base is not weighted and teeters when trying to tear a towel. This is a flawed design and I will be returning.

Sleek and sturdyIt looks great on my counter top, the brushed nickle looks very rich! It's stays upright no matter how hard you pull for a paper towel. I was worried it would topple over, but it stayed put!

PerfectMy kitchen is kind of wide but not wide enough for an island. I find myself running to one side where the paper towels sit but also need them handy for the other side. Decided to have two rolls but wanted them to look nice. These are perfect and so pretty and sturdy.

does not keep papertowels from spinningI read all the reviews before buying this and was looking forward to being able to rip off a paper towel without using two hands. Most of the reviews I saw said they could. I don't know what paper towels all these reviewers are using but I use Bounty. Everytime I grab a sheet and try to rip one off, the whole roll just spins and multiple sheets come off. I absolutely have to use two hands; one to hold it still and another to rip the sheet off. Very disappointed! I am keeping because it does look good on the counter and not worth returning, so....just don't expect it to work as described. If anyone who says it doesn't spin on them and they can do it with one hand, please tell me what brand of paper towels you are using, because it is not Bounty!

Looks great on the counter!I needed a paper towel holder that sat on the counter and this one works great and it looks nice sitting out also!! The rubber bottom helps it to stay in place when you pull off a paper towel and it's easy to change out the roll when needed!

Terrific Gadget!I adore this product. It is a simple and logical way to dispense paper towels without them going everywhere or being on those wall dispensers that never quite stay on the wall. I have these all over my house, in the kitchen and bathrooms. A pretty way to add a bit of organization.

The best paper towel holder I've ever usedThis paper towel holder is sturdy and has a classic design. I can give one tug on my particular brand of paper towels, and a towel comes off with no trouble. I have only used one brand of paper towels with this holder so far, so it could be true that different brands come off with different levels of effort.

Well balancedI have resisted a counter paper towel holder for years. I needed every square inch of counter I could find in my limited counter kitchen. We have renovated our kitchen, I now have under counter lighting and no where to install an above counter paper towel holder. This one is great! The bronze color compliments the colors in our kitchen and it is weighted so it doesn't tip easily. Highly recommend.

Very helpfulI only realized the need for a new paper towel holder after trying to rip off paper towels one handed while cooking and such. This is one of the less expensive ones and I like the simple, modern look to it. Works as claimed, I can easily rip off towels one handed and it is weighted very well in the bottom. Never moves or tips over. Love this paper towel holder!

DecentThis is nice looking and better than many other paper towel holders I've seen. However, it's not as heavy as I thought it would be. Also, not sure what they're referring to as the tug feature. It definitely takes two hands. The "hidden rubber friction" feature seems to be missing on the one I received. Still a nice holder.

Nice paper towel holderThis paper towel holder works well and is reasonably attractive. One nice feature are the rubber fins on the column that grip the paper towel roll so that you can retrieve a towel using only one hand. The bottom of the base is also rubber to improve stability. Finally, the brushed nickel finish is easy to keep clean.

Best ItemHave tried a number of different paper towel holders, each time finding fault for either lack of weighted bottom, not the correct color, difficult to use using just one hand, etc. This Umbra in bronze is perfect & has solved all the issues above. Highly recommend!

So-SoIt's ok, but I had a different version before that really held the rolls better so you could truly be one-handed. This one holds it a bit, but doesn't always work.
