I was looking for a trunk that I could use for storage around my house since my bedroom has only a small closet. This trunk is perfect for it. It holds most of my winter stuff in the summer and vice vera. It also is attractive and can be used as extra seating as well. Overall an excellent purchase.

Four Star could have been FiveLooks great, but not made with care as the top is aligned poorly. Looks so nice it could be used as a locker table in a studio apt or other small space. I just wish the manufacturer used better quality control to make sure lid closed perfectly aligned. If this was to be used as iluggage in the airport it would be over weight and would be torn apart with in minutes as the vinyl could not take it. I use mine as household storage.

Eh.I needed somewhere attractive to hide some stuff in my work studio and this looked cute. I had it delivered and was pleased with the services rendered. However the trunk is very cheaply made. I had to fix the tray inside because it was only half held up by the supports. The lock hardware is also crooked and doesn't close very well. If you're just looking for storage its ok. But as it mentions travelling in the description, I personally would not use it for travel as it is somewhat flimsy. I would have returned it but the hassle isn't worth it.
Disappointed but keeping it.

Definitely a worthwhile purchase, but one flaw.I must say that the major concern I had was space — I think it could do with a tiny bit more in the way of features — there is one tray and then nothing else, which can be a bit difficult — what's delicate enough for the tray and what's not? It did, however, adequately fill the bottom of my daughter's dorm room closet, so the width was about right. The problem was, I had to unpack a great deal of it to get to things, since the depth was relatively low. It was a bit aggravating that way.
Is it safe for "archival" storage - vintage, antiques, etc?

Lid hinge
Is this a soft close or does the lid just fall if half open? Thinking of using this for toy storage but don't want the risk of little fingers getting pinched.

Is there a handle on the top side of the trunk. The side with no wheels to roll it.

Yes. There are identical handles on each end of the trunk. (You should be able to see one handle in the picture provided.) The handles are sturdy and seem to be made to be functional rather than merely decorative. The handle is appropriate for pulling the trunk on its wheels. Note: depending on your height, strength, and the weight of the trunk, it may not be particularly comfortable to pull the trunk for long distances.
