I was so excited to buy this can, although it seemed like a lot of money for a garbage can. I thought we finally had the perfect answer for our kitchen garbage. I am very disappointed. After a week, we moved it to the back porch, where it still sits. It definitely is not worth the money.
The lid is too small for many things to fit through. In order to dump anything in from another container, the lid needs to be removed. The swinging lid doesn't allow the lid to stay open long enough to empty something like a small garbage can, or a pan of leftovers.
The large size could be good for a family that creates a lot of garbage. One problem is that it takes bags that are not a standard size. Another is that when the can is half to 3/4 full of garbage, the lid doesn't swing any longer. When the lid style does not allow it to fill all the way full, you are left with a smaller amount of garbage in an extra large bag.
Not very efficient use of more expensive garbage bags. Not very easy to use with anything larger than a crumpled paper towel. Definitely would not recommend anyone buy it. Needs some major revisions to the style & functionality.

I've had this trash can for years now. It is sturdy, it looks great and it holds a lot. I just get 40 gallon bags at the grocery store, they're inexpensive and work fine. So all that's good.
But I'm finally going to give up on this one as a kitchen can for the following reasons. If you want to empty a smaller can into it, like from the bathroom or desk, it can be hard as there's really only the space of half the width of the lid to dump into. You'll really need to remove the lid to do that if you don't want stuff to spill onto the floor. Also if your hands are goopy from cooking and you go to throw something away you're going to have to touch the lid and then you have to wash your hands before you go back to cooking plus goo ends up on the lid as well. The bottom of the lid gets dirty too, and overall that lid has just been a pain to keep clean. That's probably my main beef.
Though it's large size is very helpful in the kitchen I just don't like to spend the time required to clean it. Maybe I'm just a messy cook but I dont' think so...

I bought this can for use at our church for indoor functions. It beats the old ugly plastic ones. It looks great and is perfect to set next to the coffee table.

We purchased this stainless steel trash can while on vacaction in Colorado. I love how this lid stays closed and keeps in odors. It is easy to clean. No more plastic cans for me. It was worth every penny.

the size P bags are the best for this Simple Human can even though TCS says size Q. The P size are long enough for the can and will not fall through when full as the size Q will. I know this as I have tried both sizes and can tell you size P is the best bag for this can.

I have had this trash can for over two years now...Very durable. It holds a lot of trash, has a inside liner that pulls out to change the bag or clean it.
The heavy weighted lid keeps odors inside. Great looking in the kitchen too. I am planning on buy another one for our basement.
When the trash nears the top of the lid, the underside of the lid can get dirty.
