Easiest High Quality Way to CompostThis stainless steel compost pail is extremely high quality. I have had it for over 2 years and it still looks brand new. I have seen other ones at other stores that are not as heavy and end up rusting or looking cheap. This one from Container Store looks great on my granite kitchen counter & is the perfect size to blend in without looking out of place. The compost pail in general holds the compost items but never holds any odors. I love this product!

makes composting even easierI love using my compost pail! It looks good enough to leave on the counter and saves me a trip outside every time I need to add something to the compost. It's very handy that it's dishwasher safe as well.

Sleek & Sensational!Not only does this compost pail look great, but it holds a lot of scrap without odor thanks to the filter system. I have reduced my trash to less than a kitchen size bag a week thanks to this little pail & my new compost container outside! We eat a lot of fruit & vegetables and I can easily go 3-5 days before having to take this outside. Might be a little more often in the summer simply because of the warmer air temps, but this has been a wonderful purchase. Cleans easily, too - simple wipe with a damp cloth keeps it shiny.

Love this pailThis pail holds more kitchen waste than I thought it would. and still no smell!! It looks pretty on the counter and doesnt take up much room. There was one time we went as long as a week without emptying the pail and still no smell.

The liner bags say ‘compostable in industrial facilities.’ Are they able to be used for home composting?

Industrial composting facilities are designed to process large volumes of waste in a shorter amount of time, at temperatures higher than home composters. The Compost Pail Liners can be used at home but may take slightly longer to degrade.

What are the liners made of?
Are the liners combustible so they can be put in the compost?

They are made from the starches of renewable GMO-free crops and the material Mater-Bi. It also says BioBags meet the ASTM D6400 requirements which is standard for compostable plastic, and that it is certified compostable

ho often do you need to replace filters?

I think it is recommended monthly. However, I have never had a smell problem and have only changed mine once since I bought it. And then I only changed mine due to a maggot infestation in the filters. Yuck!
