Our 2.6 gal. Butterfly Step Can is a perfectly sized counterpart to your trash needs. It boasts a slim, space-saving design that is deal for tight spaces and the slow open/close lid is a snap to activate with the oversized pedal. The lid can be locked into the open position for large jobs. The removable bucket makes changing bags easy - it also has a special Bag Tuck opening to conceal the plastic bag when the lid is closed. Liners sold separately.

I need to keep this inside of a very small pantry closet so I’d probably have to turn it on its side. Is this enough gallons to hold kitchen trash? I don’t have a ton of trash but I can’t use a small bathroom size trash can.

Yes, it is a nice size to hold kitchen trash. It can hold up to 2.6 gallons and measures 15-3/4" x 8" x 13-3/4" h.

Can you provide the measurements of the inside liner?

I assume there's a black can inside the stainless outside that actually holds the trash. I'm trying to compare the capacity to my existing, basic rectangular trashcan. It's difficult to compare the two since they are different styles. Thank you!
