Can you put the whole box of cereal in the container? Even though I know you will have to take the box out to pour the cereal.

It is dependent upon the size of box, but it should fit the contents of a standard sized box.
If the intention is to put the actual box in the container, I don’t think one will fit as the container is slightly tapered from top to bottom. The container is also airtight to keep cereal fresh.
