The Sterilite Black Stacker Totes are made from 100% High Impact polypropylene. Polypropylene is highly impermeable to water. These totes are not airtight. We recommend our weathertight totes (link below).

The 18" depth of these products is from handle to handle at the top? Meaning, the depth at the bottom is slightly less since they appear to be slightly tapered?

Yes, you are correct. The dimensions shown are the exterior of the product. Our dimensions are listed as width (side to side) x depth (front to back) and height (top to bottom).

Are these Cold Weather safe like the Sterilite Ultra Blue Totes?

The general guideline for tote boxes molded from polypropylene (and our Sterilite Stacker Totes in particular) is that they can withstand a temperature range from 15 to 176 degrees Fahrenheit (-9 to 80 degrees Celsius). They are not recommended for temperatures below 15 or above 194 degrees Fahrenheit.
