What you See is NOT what you getButcher Block Top for Intermetro shelving is really misleading. It doesn't look at all like the photograph. So disappointing. I would not recommend the butcher block top to anyone because it is not what you see online. It doesn't have the stripes of wood tones as shown in the picture on the website.

Right sizeI wanted more room in my kitchen and i got rid of my table but needed something for the cats to be able to see outside at the birds. This is perfect and solid. and the added space to put stuff on the shelves is good. Cats love it and sit up there a lot.

Just love it!I purchased the InterMetro pieces to make a wine rack and included the butcher block top. I absolutely love the look and the new space I have in my kitchen. The pieces are very sturdy as well as good looking.

Love my Extra Prep SpaceWe wanted to spruce up our kitchen, which needed some more shelving and prep space. It was built in the 50s and has custom cabinets--so it was either start over with cabinets not as nice or add something that did not match if we wanted more space to work. However, this block top (along with the custom table we made) was a great solution. It was not very expensive, but it is a great quality, and it added some extra storage and food prep area. The other great thing is that it complements the existing counters and cabinets, so I didn't have to replace everything or go through the headache of matching up new ones. A store associate helped me build the perfect table, gathered all of my components, and gave me directions on how to put it together. It couldn't have been easier, and the kitchen looks great!

Great ProductI love this product! I was hoping it could come in a larger size that would fit the 18" x 48" shelving?? Or even come in a stainless steel top!
Does the Butcher Block sit on top of the shelves itself, or does it require a separately purchased shelf to sit on top of?

We offer the InterMetro® Butcher Block Top to fit the 14" x 36" and 18" x 24" Shelving units. We do not offer it in a 24" x 48" size as we do not offer any shelves in that size.

How much does it weigh?
I wish they had posted the weight of the butcher block. I will be sitting a flat screen TV 43" on the top shelf. (with the butcher block underneath the TV).

Our InterMetro Butcher Block Top weighs 10.9 pounds.
Although the weight of an object does not directly influence the weight capacity of that object, but our InterMetro Butcher Block Top is more than adequate to support a 19 to 23 pound flat screen television.
