Suits the purpose for which we bought it.It is the size and function that we wanted, but we have it in our coat closet and it has made the whole closet smell moldy. I will have to remove everything from the shelves and wash it with lysol and hope the smell disappears. I realized it was the shelf unit today when we were cutting up the cardboard box that it came in and it had that same smell.

Easy PeasyWe now have three of these towers. The towers made simple to go vertical with some things that were causing clutter in our bedroom. They are fast to set up and are constructed well. We also really appreciated how carefully they were packed, which allowed them to arrive at the store undamaged. We combined these with Bigso Oskar Boxes and Ashcraft Storage Cubes with Handles (plus we had some Large Makati Bins from a couple of years ago when we bought the first two towers). It is fun to have both variety and continuity.

Very Nice TowerI purchased two of these to store books, pictures and trophies. They were better than anticipated. The quality was equivalent to towers 3X the price in furniture stores. The assembly also was easier than expected. We simply unfolded them and clicked them in place.

Great for small spacesI was surprised at the quality of this item and love the way it folds compactly (for the next time I move, which hopefully is not soon). Fits nicely in the area chosen for it. Sturdy and good value for the price (had a discount coupon which helped as well).

Great Quality, Super Easy SetupThis shelf takes literally no assembly. You take it out of the box, fold the sides out, and the shelves just fall into place. Its light enough that its easy to move around, but good quality where you're not worried it'll get dinged or start to bend. It easily fits a variety of different sized baskets for storage if you want to go that way. I bought one last year and loved it so much that I bought a second after moving to a new place.

Gypsy's Best Friend!Since I move around a lot - I found these folding wooden Java shelves to be the perfect size, height and they're lightweight. Easy to pack and unpack. They give the feel of antique vibes which I love/must have. The folding cubes are excellent to become a "drawer" to hold numerous of different items. It made my plain basement room into a much more homier interior. I love the fact that I can store tall books on the top shelves & mix n match of decorative items to give a personality. THANK YOU for making and carrying these wonderful shelves. Always keep them stocked, I may come for more!

easy to put up, very handy small profile shelfgot this to fit in a small space to hold bottled water and can-packs of soda. keeps everything off the floor and easy to see and reach. fully assembled, you just have to swing the sides out and fold the shelves down onto the support brackets. shelves are plenty sturdy enough for the items I am putting on them. shelves are 12.25 inch wide by 11 inch deep inside dimension so they will hold storage cubes, bins or boxes

This item is simple, clean and easy to assemble. Just remove it from the package, unfold the shelves and it's done. As it is small, it fits almost anywhere; I used it as an additional organizer to my closet and it works fine.

Great little shelf- easy assemblyThis shelf is pretty great! I ordered it for my closet, I needed something narrow to store extra clothes and boxes on and it's great. Easy to assemble and move around. It's a little wobbly so I wouldn't put anything super heavy on the top shelves but it works pretty great for clothes and lightweight items. For the record, if you are looking to order cubes to go on it, the small hyacinth cubes (10x 10x) fit perfectly!

Nice and EasyNeeded shelving to organize books and accessories in a small bedroom. This was exceptionally easy to setup and it fits in small places. I anchored it to the wall with one screw so that small children do not pull it over.

Quality goodsVery good media storage solution, I use it to hold a number of Blu-rays that don't fit into a wire tower that holds standard size cases. The build quality is very good, the wood is solid and the finish is very good. It is plain, but you don't need a book stand or multimedia tower to be fancy, but utilitarian. It comes in a long box, I stand 5'10'' and the box comes up slightly past my chin, but by slanting it, I was able to fit it into the back seat of a taxi. On the other hand, that meant it was fully assembled. Nothing to be glued together or screwed in, no possibility of making a mistake.

pretty good purchase, excellent workmanshipThis shelf is made very well, arrived in good condition, and I like it. It only gets four stars, rather than five, for the following reasons:
1. Its shelves are not at the same height as the shelves for the stacking, folding, bookshelves that look like it. I put this shelf on a wall next to, and in line with, two of the stacking bookshelves. The arrangement of furniture looks dorky and unpolished because the shelves of this wood folding tower are not at the same height as the shelves of the stacking, folding bookshelves I bought previously. I did not look closely enough at the store and did not expect this. Part of this disappointment is on me. Sigh.
2. A folding tower of the same height and construction as one of the stacking, folding bookshelves would be useful, especially if two of the folding towers could have been screwed together and stacked in the same manner as two of the stacking, folding bookshelves can be stacked. This probably wouldn't be stable unless fastened to the wall, but it would allow a stair step finish to the wall of shelving, that would have fitted under a window and looked professional.
These are my observations and opinions-- your mileage may vary.
I do like the tower. It folds to take up little amount of space, it has solid wood shelves, and it is light enough I can haul it around by myself.

How sturdy is this without being anchored?
I don’t have small kids but want to make sure this is safe in general without being anchored to a wall and not likely to tip over. Also, for others- is there a way to anchor it if someone desires to do so?
