Great System!I'd had my eye on this for months and finally bit the bullet last week. Now that I have it and it's installed, I honestly don't know why I hesitated. It's great! It has totally freed up space on the bottom of my linen pantry and has made looking for and using all my cleaning products so much easier. Really, if you are considering purchasing this, do it!

Excellent Space-SaverUnfortunately, I have a kitchen with a tiny pantry. I have struggled for years and stored pantry items all over the house because they would not fit in the kitchen, where they are used. This door & wall rack actually freed up two shelves so that I may now store garbage bags, paper towels, oils and vinegars, small packets, etc. It was easy to install (hollow door mount) and so nice that I could customize the baskets for the sizes that I needed. Thank you for such a wonderful solution to my problem. I am just mad that I didn't do this years ago!

Game ChangerI used mine in the bathroom and one in the den. I added different mesh bins by using the build your own customized solution with the Elfa Utility Door & Wall Rack Planner. I have five large bins on each door adding to my wall space. I have all my bathroom needs and towels in one, and my remotes, DVD/CDs in the other. Not for an 18 inch doorThe bskets barely fit the door. You have to open both pantry doors or it does not work. We removed part of the door frame and it barely fits. I am so disappointed. We are returning 3 of the 4 we bought. i would return the fourth one except my husband chiseled out the top door frame because the door fit was too tight for the over the door hanger. Now I have to paint the door frame where he removed wood. I cannot use the bigger baskets at all. Don't buy it if your door is wider than 17 inches. Even that might be generous.

Glad for Screw HolesMy door was smaller than this unit but because they gave me screw holes I could attach it directly to the door.
Everything worked fine except the largest basket was just too big to fit without banging into the shelf and not allowing the door to close. I'm wondering where else I could use it right now. I kind of wish I could exchange it for another one of the smaller baskets. All in all it was a great use of space.

Don't overload the doorFirst of all let me say that this is a great product, finish is excellent and construction is rock solid. In fact a little too solid. My wife and I love to cook and through our travels have come to use a wide variety of spices in our cooking. The ability to add baskets to this item make it very easy to eventually overload your door hinges, as we did. An easy fix that we used was to make sure the hinge screws are long enough to go through the door frame and into the wall studs behind it. I purchased this thinking it would save space, based on all the great reviews. It has been the most irritating piece. The hook at the top of the door bent after filling the baskets, so it didn’t hold up. I then screwed it into the solid door and the screws tore out within 10 hours. I’m not even putting heavy items in! Really disappointing.

Thrilled with this product!!I'm absolutely thrilled with this rack. It was easy to install, hardly shows at all from outside the closet door, and is very sturdy and heavy duty. It even fit on my narrow bathroom closet door. I love that I can swap out the baskets if I need different sizes. It does jiggle a little due to it only having the one shelf standard, but I have no problem with that so far and if I do I'll put some bumpers on the baskets. It is a little expensive but worth the cost for the quality. I only wish I had more closets with swing doors so I could use one on them.

Great space saverInstallation took about five minutes - very easy. We added this to our pantry door; it stores an awesome amount of cans, bottles, bags and more. The height of the baskets keeps things from tipping out, and the depth means that you can store more goods. It is good quality, heavy gauge.

Love!!I'm obsessed with my Elfa door rack! I looked at several other styles of door rack but they all hang from the top and people had to rig various ways to keep the rack from swinging and banging when the door moved. I loved the design of the Elfa rack and the fact that I didn't have to drill holes in my pantry door to keep it secure. Installation took all of fifteen minutes - even with a toddler assisting. It's great quality, holds quite a bit, fits on my skinny pantry door, and I love that I could customize everything. My only complaint is that it took over two weeks to arrive but I'm told they had a problem with their system that resulted in the delay so hopefully that was just a crazy random happenstance.

A Great Pantry Door Storage Solution!I love this Elfa system! We installed it on the back of our pantry door. It freed up so much space in the pantry and cabinets. Great space saverI put this on the inside of my pantry door to store small items. A must for organizing a small space, like adding small shelves! Does rattle just a little when opening door but not bad, I returned one a purchased from a different store that was much cheaper but it also looked and seemed cheaper, I think this will last for a long time so it's worth the money. You can see the little hangers on the top and bottom of the door but hardly noticeable on a white door.

My son installed this elfa pantry rack relatively easily to a concrete wall in our very small kitchen. It's great to have the extra space for storage. The baskets wobble even when weighted down with items, but the rack seems to be secure.

Not Great as I hopedResearched like crazy for best over the door pantry unit. I chose this one because of the versatility and no need to drill holes. It is also the most expensive on the market.
I liked the quality feel of the pieces. Very sturdy. I like the ease of hooking on the baskets. No need to fish around for the holes. It looks really nice.
Now what I didn't like or expect. The difficulty of installation along with unclear instructions including within their videos. I needed to know how to get that bottom bracket on. It took me 45 mins of frustration. My door is so thick, the brackets didn't slide on easily but not thick enough for the commercial one. It ended up chipping bottom of my door trying to get it on. Alas, a mallet of multiple taps did it but at this point I almost beat the crap out of it.
Finally i get to do the fun part of loading it. Lady at the store says it can handle a lot of weight so put the bigger things in the bottom. I got it packed but after shutting the door, could hear massive banging and wobbling. Because the standard is flush, the baskets are not. There is quite a gap and why I wish it used TWO standards like the shelving units. All competitors have the 2.
Now I had to decide to either take it down and return it OR find a work around. I chose to spend another $10 to buy clear bumper guards. If this didn't work it was going back. It worked so I'm hesitantly keeping it. I'm irked that for over $100 that this is so noisy. It should include the guards knowing this.
Lastly the weight is very noticeable opening/closing door. I may rearrange what I have in it.

i did not screw the unit into the door so i can use this for years to come since it can go anywhere i move- also it is so easy to clean and reorganize as all parts are easily removable.

Changed my “spice” life!Not only had I reached the point where my spices were taking over my pantry but they were lined up so deep that I couldn’t ever quickly put my hands on the spice I was looking for before picking up several others first, even though I organized them alphabetically!! I didn’t want to nail anything into my pantry door and those were the only spice racks I had seen. And then I ventured into the recently opened Container Store in Albuquerque and discovered this! No nailing and I was able to put it together and put it up myself. I’m looking forward to getting another basket or two so that I can make even more room on my pantry shelves. This item has truly changed my spice life and for less than 100 bucks! I am so happy with it!

Most Versatile product ever!I was skeptical at first until I saw the unlimited options there are to choose from. I have shelving that doesn’t have adjustable shelving. I’ve tried decanting, buying smaller packages (litterally measuring the groceries in the store to make sure they’ll fit in my cabinets) etc.. Since I’m renting, my options are limited as far as updating my cabinets. I stumbled across this solution and thought I’d give it a shot. I went to the store and immediately was sold. The amount of options this system has to offer, is endless! The over the door hooks are perfect for my rental unit. I ended up buying a system for 3 other spaces in my home. The quality is ridiculously high end and durable. I’m considering getting this for my son who’s away at college.

So easy to installI don't know why I hadn't done this sooner. The door rack was so easy to install. I did have to have the folks at the store cut the mounting bracket since my basement door is slightly shorter than a standard door, and it fits perfectly.
I'm looking at our pantry door and it seems to be hollow inside. Is this ok for the over the door hooks? Is a hollow door strong enough to use this big of a door rack? Will it cause any damage to the door? (we're renters!)

I have two 18" hollow core pantry doors. The over the door hangers are really enough, but I also used hollow core door anchors for added stability. I purchased them from Home Depot for under two bucks for 4 of them. It does help to have them as I have cooking oil and a few other heavier items stored on them. Very easy to install. I love how visible and accessable everything is.

Yes it is anchored at top and bottom. You tighten it at the top with enclosed Allen wrench. No other tools needed.

You can see it, but there is only about a 1/4" of an inch visible from top and bottom. It does not look bad at all. You can also secure it with screws if you don't want it to be visible.

Just barely, if you look, especially if it's on a white door. You could always paint the hardware to match your door, but for me, just under 1/2" shows at the top and bottom of a standard, 1.5 inch thick closet door.

Yes, there are holes in the rack for screws. You really don't need them. It anchors to the top and bottom of the door. You would need to provide the screws, not included.

How many and what are the dimensions of the included baskets?

The width is 17" and the depth is 3" for the small basket, 4" for the medium and 5" for the large basket. It comes with 2 of each size. I have 18 inch wide pantry doors. You have to stagger the baskets on each door if you have two, but it works great. I love mine.
