Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Versatile Markers! I absolutely love these markers! I use them to decorate my quartz island in my kitchen. I get so many comments about it and get asked what I used. People are stunned that it's a "marker". I also use the markers on my plastic storage bowls. I mark the contents of the leftovers on the bowl/lid. If real glass drinking glasses and wine glasses are used at a party, I have the guest write their name with these markers. Washes right off when cleaning the dishes. These are only a few ways I use the markers other than the normal use of them for chalk board surfaces and paper. I highly recommend these markers. They are a little pricey, but you won't regret buying them. November 5, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Shocked I am shocked at the reviews I read. I thought $36 for chalk markers. I'm thinking a little steep but if it works I will splurge. No my friends, the color is so washed out. I am returning the product. The vibrant colors that you're lead to believe the ink looks like are incredibly different. November 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best I could find! Worth every cent!! I bought these to make Christmas gifts and I tried 3 other brands before buying these. They dry nicely, write clearly and out-do any other I could find. The lettering is clear, but still looks like chalk. I thought I'd have to use a paint pen to get this clear of a line! Hint: Let chalk dry overnight before touching to avoid smudging. January 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Chalk Marker This is a great chalk marker for labeling your kitchen canister's or anything else. November 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful penmanship with these pens I originally tried using real chalk on a decorative chalkboard and soon learned that didn't work well. These markers write really well, and if you make a mistake, the ink comes off easily with a wet cloth. September 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love, love, love. I had been using chalk to write on my chalkboard calendar, which was a little difficult since the boxes are small. I was at the container store and came across this and decided to give it a shot....so glad I did. Very easy to write with. You will have to press the tip for a bit to get it to write like the instructions state. July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works great! The Chalk Ink markers worked great on the chalkboard labels. I used them to label my 30+ spice jars and they are easy to read. They really do wipe clean with just a damp paper towel. July 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Pigment Markers Though they take some patience to get started and you have to be careful to always recap them, these are awesome markers to have if you have a dry erase board, a chalkboard surface, write on glass, plastic, etc. because the colors show up brilliantly and best of all wash right off! Though best on these alternative surfaces, the markers write on paper as well. May 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by A cute way to organize I purchased these chalk markers to write on chalk labels on The Container Store's clear storage boxes as a means to corral all the various medications, vitamins, heating pads, bandages, etc that cluttered our linen closet. What was once an avalanche waiting to happen is now a neatly ordered oasis with room to spare. I love how I can now quickly grab what ever it is I am looking for. The only down side is that if I have washed my hands and didn't dry off thoroughly prior to touching these, the writing will smear/vanish. Regardless, I love the look and am energized to organize the rest of our linen closet. I should had done this a long time ago! April 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product These have been great so far. They took a little while to start working (you really need to "pump" the tip of the marker a bunch) but work well on chalkboard paint, black chalkboard labels, and storage containers (so far). I can't say how long they last just yet-- but at least 50 labels worth. March 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Vibrant Markers The metallic chalk markers are so vibrant, and they look great on a traditional chalk board. November 1, 2013

Do the Classic Chalk Markers work on the usual WIPE boards?

By this I mean the white wipe boards that erase markers are used on.

Yes, you can use the markers on any non porous surface.

Can this marker or the set of bright color markers be used on a dry erase board?

Asked by: GrandmaNancy
The white marker will mark on a dry erase board, but the line is not consistent. Looks like an old marker when it's losing ink. Cleaned off mine dry erase surface perfectly.

Is there a chance these will scratch plastic/acrylic with repeated use?

I'd like to use these on the OXO containers in my pantry but am concerned that the pen tip might scratch up the surface over time with the relabelling of the same containers. Does anyone know if this is likely?
Asked by: BLDR
We have had no reports of any of our Chalk Markers scratching surfaces over time.

Do these work on a white board? If so, do they function similarly to wet erase markers? Thanks!

Asked by: jwhitter
Chalk Ink markers work best on smooth non-porous surfaces. Examples include chalkboards, mirrors, glass, metal, plastic, granite, glazed ceramic, Chalk Ink wallpaper, Chalk Ink dry erase wallpaper and Chalk Ink chalkboard paper. From what I can tell, the appropriate dry-erase or wet-erase products should be used on whiteboard.
