may seem silly but

Can these be used outside , and last longer than a few minutes, in an area which is protected by an overhang and not exposed to *too* much weather ? We'd use it on the same material (metal) in the same area (on lower part of storm-front door) that we use children's chalk to leave messages for delivery people.

Our Chunkies Paint Sticks are water color-based and will wash off with water. As long as they are not rained or snowed on, they should be fine.

Is special paper needed? Ie. watercolor paper.
