Just bought this box and love it. However I had to take it back up to the store to ensure proper setup/installment as it does not come with any instructions and the "marked notches" were covered up/not clearly marked. A simple, small, double sided piece of paper with instruction is all it needs to be great. Btw the staff at my store (near Northpark mall in Dallas, TX) were great!!

A decent optionI'll admit I bought this because it matched & was the right size. It fades into the background and looks neat without being too industrial looking.
I had read reviews and knew to expect to have to assemble the bars. It was inconvient, although not too bad as some have said as there were guide circles on the inside. The metal is rigid enough that it seems to give strength and stability, so the file box is much sturdier after they're in. This is good, because it had felt a bit flexible and slightly warped, which had been disappointing.
I did have one small problem. I was previously using poly hanging folders and they just didn't fit on the rails. I like them for their smooth sturdiness and they fit in every other filing device I have, but they were too wide for the Stockholm filing box. I switched to regular paper hanging files and had no more problems.

Pretty goodAlthough it's a little pricey, it's very sturdy and functional. No instructions came with mine, so I had to figure out where the rods went, they weren't pre-drilled either, so I had to do that, but once that was done, it's great.

This box files my stuff.I am happy with this purchase. Sturdy, looks nice, easy to put the rails up in letter file hanging configuration. I would buy this again. In fact, I might, because we are retiring our ugly, old, filing cabinet. My only complaint is that the shipping cost was expensive, and they don't stock these at my local store so I couldn't just pick them up.

Good but could be betterI own five of these - so I obviously like them. However, I wish that the boxes would have holes drilled in them to add the rails for hanging files. For $30 a box, I shouldn't have to do it.

Great Sturdy Box for FilesI just bought a few of these boxes for my office and find them nice and roomy and perfect for holding and organizing file folders. I love that they have tops to the boxes so I can stack them and keep the files dust free and my office looks well organized.

You will need a drill and screwdriverDrill needed to complete holes (letter size hanging folder) or to drill holes from scratch (legal size hanging folder). I was not expecting the same box size for both letter and legal folders, but they are indeed the same size, with letter size running lengthwise and legal size running widthwise. Assembly of rods in box is required. The holes for letter size support rods are half-drilled and require finishing with a drill or auger. The holes for legal size support rods must be measured and drilled by the purchaser. Screwdriver needed to affix bolts through walls and into hollow ends of rods. Once completed, boxes are fine. Only time will tell if the rods & walls of the box warp under the weight of the folders.

Suggestions for Improving this ProductThis product is good but would be fantastic if Stockholm had pre-drilled holes in the box for the support bars to hang the files. I didn't realize they weren't pre-drilled and now I have to do it. PLEASE pre-drill the holes in the four corners to insert the support bars to make this product better.

Awesome OrganizersI purchased several different sizes of the Stockholm office boxes in red to compliment my black desk and hutch. They are sturdy, easily labeled, and keep my things attractively organized and
dust-free. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.

It's actually a dark charcoal grey, which i think is perfect, but they do make a few other versions, some visually textured rather than solid.

Is the Stockholm File Box stackable? If so, how many high?

You can stack these like you'd stack any box made of cardboard. If you load them up to much and store them in a humid place you probably won't like the result.
I haven't tried, but I wouldn't stand on one...however, packed full of files, they'd probably do ok. Sketchy would be packed full of your favorite rock collection 75% (room to crush) and then stacked 3 or 4 high. If what you really want is a filling cabinet, you should buy that. These are great for archiving files, but I'm storing mine on wire shelving...with wheels...i love wheels.

Depends on what your storing. Rocks, nope. Books? Probably...not sure how high is be willing to stack them filled with really heavy stuff, but if you're shelving them, yes.

Do common hanging files fit in this box?
