Pen sorter different useAt first I didn’t know this was a pen sorter. I use these for test strips at a doctor’s office. It keeps them organized, is the correct size, and because of the slant, makes it easy to access them.

OK, but Not Top QualityI was hoping to use it for cosmetics (brushes, liners, mascara) and it is a little smaller than I'd like for that. That's not the product's fault though. I must have overlooked the dimensions. It'd be nice to see a variation in size for similar price with larger compartments and more compartments.
Size aside, it isn't quite up to what I've come to see in most acrylic. Usually acrylic is super clear seams and all. I think it might just be the particular one I received though. On mine, one of the seems was full of bubbles rather than clear. And it has a dark spot in it which looks like it might be a small bug though it might also be a fuzz or something. It's difficult to completely see given it being on a seam. So not quite what you want. The dark spot is a little disconcerting since it looks bug like. But provided yours doesn't have such issues and you want it for a few tiny things, then I think it'd be just fine.

Not quite 4 sections when vertically standing.It isn't quite 4 sections when you have the pen holder standing vertically. If there was another piece of slanted acrylic, then it would be able to hold pens at the bottom section.
I still like it though because of its clean lines. I can grab my choice of pen/marker easily. I had it all in a glass beaker and had to dig around it from time to time to get the color I want.
It is much better to have it laying horizontally though.
Can this be hung on the wall itself or does it need a shelf to sit on?

Is the 3 3/8" measurement the depth of each section?

No, it's the depth front to back. Each divided section is about 3-5/8" deep, which is honestly a little shallow for pens and pencils - they can fall out pretty easily. It might work well for other/shorter things though.
