Acrylic Magazine Slipcase is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Best Use / Worst Use this advertised as a magazine holder - and that is what it is. I wanted to use it for interior file holder. in checking the questions and answers I found someone else with the idea. the answer to the question could it be used as a file holder, the answer was yes! great. also in checking the dimensions listed, it would work for files. well it came today and it CANNOT be use for files. the exterior dimensions are smaller than those listed (so the interior dimensions are even smaller), also instead of straight sides, the sides angle in toward the back, making the back (or bottom as I wanted to use it) smaller than the front (top).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great with Gingham Bin -- Great for Children I discovered you could slip (3) of the acrylic magazine slipcases into a (1) LG size gingham bin to make a PERFECT children's mini-bookcase. It makes the gingham bin child-proof and durable for books. I have 3 of them now, I used 2 in our regular bookshelf to add color and much needed organization as children's books can get messy fast!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Attractive and strong, with one con. The acrylic allows me to see which magazines are in which case, and I would give it 5 stars if there were a notch in the sides so that extracting the edge magazines was easier (i.e. no finger-squishing!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and sturdy Sturdier than I thought it was gonna be. This is perfect for me. If you lay it down, the top will be slightly inclined. As with all Container Store products that I have bought, it is beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money I have been looking for magazine storage cases for quite a while. After doing some research, I decided to buy these. They are wonderful! They're much bigger than I expected and easily hold large magazines. In addition, they are very sturdy and easy to clean. I will probably be buying more in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clean and simple I was looking for a magazine file that would be easily accessible (most have a partial "wall" on the front that makes it more difficult to get magazines in and out). I also wanted something that would fit within any decor. These clear, frontless files seemed perfect for the job. These are also wider than most magazine files (at 5") so they hold more magazines than most. However, there is one drawback to frontless magazine files that I hadn't thought of--when you move them and tilt them even slightly forward, all the magazines come spilling out! So keep that in mind with your purchase of these. I've learned quickly to move them slanted up, so that doesn't happen again. I also thought they would be flat on top, so I could stack current issues on top of the two files I purchased. However, they are slightly slanted backward. Still OK, but I would have preferred if they were flat on top. However, once you've got them arranged on your shelf, those semi-drawbacks disappear. They function well and look great, especially if you want something simple and subtle. Overall, I like them a lot--they suit my office well and I know they'll fit in if I change the paint color or design scheme. I recommend them.

Community Q&A

Do you sell anything similar but slightly deeper?

For instance, one that goes back 10 inches instead of 9 inches, to fit a standard three hole binder, or even one that goes back 11 inches to fit one of the beautiful Stockholm binders that you sell. I am specifically looking for something that would fit a binder, but that has a top (I know you sell other magazine holders that might work, but they tend to be open on the top). I am looking to store meaningful notes and stories I wrote as a child on my bookshelf in binders upright, and I would like it if they could have some protection from dust.

How heavy is this case?

I'd like to use these as shelf dividers in my library, to keep different categories of books apart, but I want to make sure it's heavy and sturdy enough to hold its own against the weight of the books.

Can you store (standing up) standard size 3-ring notebooks?

Asked by: JH123
A standard 3-ring binder is approximately 9-3/4" w x 2-1/4" d x 11-1/2" h; our Acrylic Magazine Slipcase measures 9" w x 4-3/4"d x 12" h. So, yes, two standard 3-ring binder would fit inside our Acrylic Magazine Slipcase with the binders protruding out the opening by 1".
