Classic Post Modern NeatnessI recently upgraded my tiny Manhattan apartment's office. Besides uncluttering (not a verb), I needed to replace the eyesoring (still not a verb) the random mix styles of magazine files lining my shelves which were insulting my creative genes. As a filmmaker, I tend to amass pages of random ideas, finished scripts, scripts in progress, other people's scripts, actor's head shots, and of course trade magazines. Since projects tend to bloom and die in a New York nanosecond, I must keep all this information at arms length and above all neatly upright! I picked the Marten Magazine Files because of their sturdiness, girth, and their Hemingwayesque (not an adjective either) faux leather handles that give it that cognac snifting (darn it, not a verb), pipe smoking appeal of a mid 20th century oak sconced private den sans all that scary taxidermy. Its swell!

Pricey but beautiful!!!These add just the right touch of class to my husband's office. Beautiful on his office bookshelf.
It would depend on the thickness of magazines you are referring to. The length from side to side is 4-1/2" to help you gauge how many will fit.

What is the color of the leather accent?
It appears to be a lighter-colored leather in the in-situ photo, but in the individual item listing it's a darker leather. Would prefer the lighter color, but want to know which one it actually is on the real item.

What is the true height of this item?
On a different website the same item is listed as being 12.5” tall. My shelf will accommodate something 12.5” but NOT 12.75” so I would like to be absolutely certain about the height before ordering.

It is 12-3/4" high and unfortunately slightly too tall to accommodate 12-1/2".
