Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Picture Storage Purchase these after going thru the closet at my mom's after she past away. She had a lotof old pictures still in photo albums that were starting to cause pictures to fade. These will work out perfect to keep them in without further fading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Nice Photo Box I really like this box! My mom got me a small fire proof safe (1.23 cu. ft.) for christmas. I have been looking for an archival photo box that would hold all my grandmothers photos, and fit in the safe. This one fits the bill perfectly. It even comes with 12 photo sleeves! (those are like $7. a pack, so really it's like the box is only $10.) Also this box is really well made. It is made with very thick board and nice metal rivets on the outside corners.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted I was looking for an archival box for storing old family photos, and this is just the ticket. I was pleased with the size when I received it, I thought it would be smaller when I ordered it, but I needed one bigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Photo Storage These were a great solution for all of my loose photos. The boxes stack nicely for maximum storage. They also look great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not as billed I purchased this because it was supposed to be good for APS photos but the envelopes for storing the photos that it comes with are for 4x6 prints rather than the wider format APS prints so I'm stuck just putting the prints in the box without being in the protective envelopes. Definitely disappointing!

Community Q&A

are the achival envelopes made of paper or cardboard?

Asked by: eld67
The Archival Envelopes are made from a paper material.

Is this a paper box? Do you have any acid free, lignin free containers that are water proof in case of hurricane or flood?

Asked by: PLFGirl
Storing one or more our Archival Photo Storage Boxes in a Weathertight Tote is our most secure option. Although they're not designed to be completely submerged, the super-strong latches of our Weathertight Totes secure the lids to the bases, providing an air- and weathertight seal.

Does this box hold 5 x 7 photos?

Asked by: Texas2
Our Archival Photo Storage Box will not accommodate 5" x "7 photos. For 5" x 7" prints, we recommend our Large Archival Photo Storage Box.

Certified acid-free?

Have the containers like this one been certified as try acid-free? Has anything passed the PAT test (Photographic Activity Test) developed by the Image Permanence Institute? I am leery if purchasing so-called acid-free items without that certification, as many who claim to make such products lie or bend the truth on the matter.
Asked by: GamingArchiving
We have the base materials of the Archival Photo Storage Box tested. The base materials have passed the Photographic Activity Test (PAT).

Safe to stack photos in an envelope?

-Is it safe to stack photos within an envelope? I'm worried photos may stick together. -Do you have any individual, archive-safe, photo sleeves (like baseball card sleeves)? Would that keep the photos safe or could they just stick to the sleeve instead of the photo. Thanks!
Asked by: upsidedownjim
If you're concerned about your photographs sticking together, our acid-free, archival-quality polypropylene Photo Storage Pages are a high quality, non-stick option .

What does the photo envelopes look like? Is there a dedicated slot in the envelopes for negatives?

SKU#: 452045
Asked by: illise
The envelopes that are included with our Archival Photo Storage Box have the look of a standard mailing envelope with the added protection of being made of archival materials. Each envelope has a undivided interior.
