Too small for paperSo I know it says they measure the "outside" but I honestly thought a bin that's 9.5" wide would work for paper.
Nope. Now I have 3 bins that I will move to the bathroom while I shop for something that holds paper.
My fault, just don't want others to make the same error.

Good quality, irregular sizeColor was as shown online. Basket is sturdy, good quality. The two I got had at least 1cm difference in width though, even though they were the same product. So some standardization issues there.

Nice boxes for top of closetI am using these boxes to organize stuff on the top of my closet. The color is nice and they feel sturdy enough. They are obviously handcrafted and each one is unique. That can be a pro or a con, depending on your preferences.

Well-made, attractiveThese baskets are well-made and attractive. They emit no odor (sometimes these kind of baskets do). They feel strong and I do not expect them to fall apart anytime soon. It's hurts to pay $20 for each. I would have loved to pay $12.99...MAYBE $14.99. I had trouble finding baskets I liked that were only 10" deep and would fit my shelves. Sometimes you just bite the bullet.

Be wary of inconsistent sizesI bought three online. I photographed in store, decided on style when I returned home. Should have chosen at the store and had them shipped. Two are alike, the third is about 1/2" taller and has a wider handle area. They look okay because the taller one is in the middle, but Container Store should be more careful when picking orders to ship.
Now that I look at them, all three are different!

Great look in living roomWe bought six of these to fit in a media console. They are lined up in the space under the top of the console, and ganged together, side by side, look terrific. The amount of storage is amazing.
We found five at our local store and had to order one to be sent to us. Hated to pay the shipping, but really needed the sixth one. For some reason it couldn't be shipped to the store for pick up.

Hand made, well made but irregularI ordered six of these large bins online to fit in side by side cubbies. Four are perfect. One is almost an inch taller than the rest and another has angled walls. Clearly handmade and irregular. If buying at a store is an option, I would skip online purchase to see them in person first.

For officeI used these baskets for the office. I labeled them, Computer parts., Wallet stuff, Pencil and Money Bags, electronic cleaning, eye glasses, notepads, calculator. All kinds of things. I have been doing a lot of organizing and I understand why bins are so popular. You can actually find things and they actually get put away. A woman's dream. I'm already thinking of new ways to use these.

Lovely basket!I got this basket in turquoise to hold perfume and nail polish bottles on my dresser top. It is a lovely color--very true to what was shown online. It added a nice splash of color and a modern and organized look to my dresser top. I bought the small, and it held more than I thought it would. This was a great purchase for a good price!

Fits perfectly under my coffee table to hold things. It's nicely made and sturdy.
Is the texture on the sides, handles and top ediges rough or prickly?
I have a small child who grabs at everything and wanted to make sure the texture was smooth and nothing sharp or fibers that stick out could hurt him.

Medium, 13-1/4" x 9-1/2" x 5-1/4" high; and the Large, 15" x 11-1/4" x 7" high.

Our Rattan Storage Bins have a evenly distributed weight capacity of 7-8 pounds (small), 8-10 pounds (medium) and 10-13 pounds (large).

If I put a 10-inch high item in the basket, how much vertical space would it take above the shelf the basket sits on?
We are trying to decide how far apart to space the shelves on which we want to use these baskets to store bathroom items such as shampoo bottles. Thank you!

The bases of our Rattan Storage Bins are 5/16" thick.
So, if you add a 10" tall item to a Rattan Storage Bin, is will occupy 10-5/16" of vertical space.
