Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect fit! i was looking for something that i could fold up & store at the bottom of my pantry - yes the pantry! i don't have a space beside the fridge & i wanted it hidden away but it needed to stay in the kitchen. i looked everywhere for a ladder that could meet this, yet still unfold to be tall enough to reach the cabinets above my fridge. this was the only one that met both criteria. on top of that, i online chatted with CS staff twice just to verify that it would indeed fold up & be no deeper than 23" so i could slide it in the bottom of the pantry & still get the door closed. the staff were so nice & assured me it would. this ladder is perfect! i will say folding it back up after use was a little confusing at first (it's was not obvious to me), but it only took getting it right one time & i remembered it thereafter. thanks CS for another absolutely perfect product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use and store Nice and compact stool. Folds up and unfolds quickly with one hand. The bottom plastic covers tends to be a little slippery on wood floors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for 2-story house This fits compactly flat against the wall in my upstairs closet. It does seem wobbly in the open position, having a small movement from the full open position, but it's actually very sturdy and will not fold or collapse. My trick for closing it is to ensure the stool is all the way open, then gently lift the front edge of the red tab. I tried one reviewer's method of pressing the red tab while lifting the handle, and that works well too. Whatever you do, you can't muscle it to close. I've had my stool for at least 3 years. There is a plastic handle to carry it, but over time, the plastic can stretch and the handle can slip out. Not a big deal since there's a ridge on the top step that I can use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Step Stool I have had this step stool for about three months and I really love it. The two steps works out to be the perfect height for reaching anything that I need around my apartment and it stores away neatly as it is very compact. The stool is very sturdy and of high quality and easy to use once you get the hang of it. I especially like the classic styling too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Useful We bought this for the kids so they could help themselves to the things they need in the kitchen. It works great and it folds up so slim, it's easy to store. Not that the kids ever have, but it's easy enough for them to fold it up too. It's been very handy for our kitchen and is used every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Me! This is the perfect step stool for me. I have limited space in my kitchen but am short and need a stool to get into the higher cabinets. This one is very well made, sturdy and the best thing is that if folds out very easily. It folds back up fairly easily but not quite as good as it goes down. There a red button i guess you push and maybe I just haven't gotten the hang of it. There's a nice little handle at the top to grab it easily and flip it out. It's also the perfect height. A great buy for the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slim-Sleek -Slides right in Step Stool I wanted to buy a stool for my toddler to be able to reach the sink that we would not have to get rid of as he got older and this was the one that fit that description. It 's easy to open and close and it slides right into narrow places where it's needed. The construction of the stool is very sturdy and well-made

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It stores well I wanted to use this next to the sink so my 2-year-old granddaughter could reach the sink, but it does not sit flush with the cupboard. there is too big of a gap and I'm afraid she might slip off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great slim step stool Very handy step stool! If you flip it upside down it folds up almost automatically.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for closets! I love this step stool. It's perfect for reaching the upper shelves of my closet which are 8 feet high. It folds up nicely and takes up minimal space. The only complaint is that sometimes it can be difficult to get the red latch to release so I can fold it up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek Design I was nervous about this purchased based on some reviews. I purchased from the store and was happy to test it out before I bought it. The stool steps seem a little wobbly when no weight is applied on them. Once I stood on the first step, I was confident it wouldn't break. Also I think it is supposed to be a little wobbly for the spring mechanisms to fold up when not in use. I do like a lot of the features such as the height of it (taller than most step stools), the easy folding, and the weight of it. It is easy to leave it out to access tall cabinets or fold up and store between the refrigerator and wall. I did notice a few reviews about the fold up process. I think it was difficult at first, but once the trick is figured out, it works like a charm. If there is weight applied to the stool, it will not fold up. Also the handle has to lifted up at the same time the red button is pushed down. The store will give demonstrations, but if you order online, that is how you should do it to avoid pinching your fingers in the clasp. Great purchase!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works, but worried In most respects this step stool is exactly what you would expect from the picture and description: two steps, and folds up into a nice flat package for storing. However, the top step overhangs the bottom step by quite a lot, forcing you to stand toward the back of the bottom step, which has a tiny bit of play, so it rocks possibly just enough to cause you to lose your balance and step back off the stool. The top step is completely steady, without a bit of wobble. Also the mechanism that locks and unlocks the stool for folding seems a bit flimsy and can be a little uncooperative. Not the best product I've bought from Container Store. Just barely made it this side of the "Keep vs. Return" decision.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for small kitchens I love this stool, it folds up so nicely and slides in right next to the fridge. We have a smallish kitchen in an apartment, and since my boyfriend and I are foodies we need to use every inch of storage space, which means a lot of it is out of reach for me. With this stool I can reach everything, and don't have to do the "honey can you get me the.." thing every 10 minutes :) I took off a star because I find the button to fold up the stool difficult. I basically have to just push and pull on the button and kind of flail around for a bit to get it closed, which is a little annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the Trick! I bought two of these stools, from the local store and they are sturdy and tall enough for me to reach my higher cabinets and shelves in the kitchen and bedroom, and then fold flat and store easily. I noticed that some reported issues refolding them. I can report that one of mine folds up perfectly using the red button as directed. The other won't fold, and must be turned upside down, and then folds easily. Glad I read the other review for the upside down trick.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good, but... I bought this stool because it was on sale, it folded up and fits nicely between my fridge and wall and the two steps is all I needed to reach my cabinets in my kitchen. I gave it 3 stars because as much as it had most of what I was looking for, it had one major issue. I have wood floors in my kitchen and while it worked just great on carpet, I cannot use it on wood floors. There is absolutely no grip. The non-skid rubber bases that it claims to have are absolutely slippery on my floors. I'm still deciding if I can use it anywhere else my home is carpeted as it would be useful there, but I do not recommend this stool if you plan to use it on wood floors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from want more I love the slim folding step stool and plan to order more. My apt. has 10 foot ceiling and little storage room so the slim design works great. I love the built in handle too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not What I Was Expecting The quality of this item is not what I was expecting. Being a step stool, you want it to be extremely sturdy and this one is not. I would send it back but the shipping would not be worth the return.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What God Didn't Give Me in Height - Is Here! With my challenges of being 5' tall, kitchens pose issues. I have gorgeous, tall cabinets of which I can only reach the lowest shelf and the front edge of the second shelves. I loose half the cabinetry storage accessibility! I was looking for a step stool I could easily pop in and out and store in the narrow "cookie sheet" cabinet bin beside the fridge. I figured a great extra foot or more of height was more valuable in my kitchen than a special place to store cookie sheets. This one fit the need and looks great also! Easy to fold up, easy to pop open, sure and steady, and skinny enough to store as a cookie sheet! I have doubled my accessible kitchen storage!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Safe Step-Ladder This little step ladder feels good and solid under my feet. I get a little timid on any kind of a ladder, but the non-slip legs and give me a secure footing. I have a small kitchen and am always looking for a way to utilize space, fits in a tight spot perfectly. I did have a little trouble understanding the directions to make it fold up. I finally figured out if I turn it upside down, it folds up easily. But I know that is just me and my 60 year old AADD!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just as strong as any step stool, BUT, it takes up no room. Be careful with your balance - nothing to hang onto.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stool for small kitchens I have a smallish kitchen and space is at a premium. This stool is perfect. I can get to the top shelves of my cabinets and my three year old can stand on it to perform tasks at the countertop. It is stable and I have had no problem with the fold mechanism at all. It is narrow enough to be kept anywhere; currently it between the fridge and the pantry cabinet. Great stool for an unbeatable price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the Price - Awesome for Limited Storage I recently purchased this. The product arrived quickly and I am very happy with how slim it is as I have very limited storage space. It's pretty sturdy, but I did have to fight with the red button to get the thing to close. An easier latch would be nice. Regardless, I'd recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Met my needs and my husbands. Recently remodled bedroom and closet was looking for a small stool that would fold up out of the walk way in the closet. This little item did the trick! It is slim but strong enough to stand on and solid. My husband likes to sit on it in the mornings to put his shoes on for work. So both our desires were met. Thanks for a great little stepping stool.

What is the warranty on this product?

I bought this item last year and it appears the glue that holds the cover onto the stool foot has come loose. Thus, the stool foot cover won't stay on and the metal is exposed. Can't imagine that being sturdy or safe. Manufacturing issue?
