Rated 5 out of 5Â by MaryMN Love it! My Go-To Housewarming Gift
While shopping last year, I read the reviews on this site and others and was skeptical as to whether this would perform to my expectations, especially since it is a little pricey on the front end. I am pleased to say that it does.
I have given it as a housewarming gift several times and there have been no complaints, only rave reviews about the luxurious, rich foam. I am actually heading to my local Container Store today to pick up another one for a friend who bought a new house. The suction cup is genius, yet easily comes off the counter on cleaning day.
I think some of the problems may have to do with what type of "soap" is used in the dispenser. We use Bath and Body Works shower gel or Mrs. Meyer's hand soap in ours; a friend uses Kiss My Face liquid soap, another friend uses whatever high-end liquid soap is on sale at her favorite boutique bath shop, and my hair stylist uses the Aveda hand and body washes.
My daughter has already requested that when she moves into her own apartment next year that she also receive this pump. As always, if there is a problem, I would return it to The Container Store, as they are always gracious when something doesn't work out.

For plastic, the item seemed a little pricey, but I've been diluting the dish soap using reused soap bottles from the store and they clog up and stop working after one "fill." I bought this one as it has a 25 year warranty and YES, I filed the receipt! We've had it on the counter for a couple of months now and the suction cup is amazing--it's not sliding all over the counter and falling over, etc. The diluted soap doesn't separate--we used the "fill" lines on the bottle for the mix and so far, this is one of my favorite things!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by organizedmaniac no more soapy messes on the sink
I was undecided about the rubber base on the bottom, but have come to really appreciate how it holds the dispenser in place especially when there is water splashed around the sink.
It holds alot and lasts a long time. My fav thing is that there are no more gooey bar soap messes near the sink. Also if one's hands are greasy or dirty, the push down feature minimizes the additional mess of grabbing the soap or faucet with dirty hands. Love it!

I have purchased many of these for several homes and as gifts for guests who have used item and wanted it.
Excellent suction cup at bottom keeps dispenser from moving when pump is in use. Great for kids and busy kitchens. Bottle is easily detached to make refilling ease.
I use crazy fancy liquid soaps because if I am going to washes dishes, I'm going to make it a spa experience. So that bottle of rosemary dish soap from Marseille lasts nearly forever when foamed. Ditto with heavenly liquid soaps in bathrooms. Works with any soap that is thick like honey. A watery soap Dr. Bronner's is not going to work.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by mehamer Did not work from the getgo!
We had been using and reusing a Dawn pump with regular dish soap and water according to a few YouTube tutorials. I was really excited to find this item and I was SO looking forward to using this pump! Unfortunately, from day one, the pump did not work properly. When I depressed the spout, it would stay in the 'down' position; it would not spring back up for another 'pump'. The inside straw looked too close to the bottom of the bottle, so I trimmed 1/16 of an inch to allow more soap through the tube. That did not help . . . I then attempted to lubricate the upper area where the up and down pump action took place. That did not help . . . I used the pump as best I could for about three weeks until I got so frustrated I pounded all of the soap out of it and threw it in the trash. I'm back to the Dawn pump. SOOOOO disappointed!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by LoryNegro Looks great, doesn't foam
Purchased this to try to curb my six-year-old's overuse of hand soap, hoping that a handful of foam would convince him that a single pump would suffice. Unfortunately, whether it is the brand of soap we use, or something else, this pump doesn't foam at all. It does spit out a conservative droplet of soap, but no foam.
It is a nice-looking dispenser, though, and it is nice to have the suction cup on the bottom so that it doesn't always end up in the sink when the kids bang on it.

We are so disappointed because we loved this soap dispenser. It stopped working after 6 months. At first it would get stuck in the down position. Then it stopped bringing up soap. I cleaned it thoroughly but it didn't help.

The pump works fine. The rest of the features are good/bad.
It is easy open for filling. A bit too easy open as my toddler manages to open it while trying to bring it closer to him so he can use pump it.
It has a suction cup on the bottom. It needs the suction cup since the ergonomic design (which I don't feel necessary) makes it tip easier. It doesn't fit in the soap indent on one sink so it's off to one side. We frequently have smaller kids using the bathroom, and they can barely reach it, so they need to be able to pull it towards them to be able to use it, which makes the suction cup a bit annoying.
I do really like that it's clear. It's easy to see where to fill and if it needs more filling, and if it's mixed.
If you have no small children, it works well. If you do, it's not quite so good.
(I can't say much to the longevity. I've only had it a few weeks. Hasn't broken yet).

Really enjoying my new foaming pumps in my kitchen and bath. Just the right size. The suction base works really well and "unsuctions" very easily when you need it to. Pump can be used without base as well. Easy to fill with soap and water. Smooth working pump so far. We'll see if it holds up as I've not had great experience with a lot of various pumps in my time. The only improvement I'd like to see is a somewhat more attractive design - looks a tad institutional - but all in all a good product that works.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Babydc Just what I was hoping for
I bought this for our main bathroom, and now I wish I had bought three more. It is clean, easy to use (for my three sons ages 2-7), and disperses the right amount of soap each time. My only criticism is that it takes a few seconds for the pump to raise again after being depressed, so if you need more than one pump of soap for really dirty hands you have to wait or pull it up manually, but this is not that big a deal. Saves money by allowing me to use less of my favorite soaps. I was doubtful about the suction cup, but so far (it has been two weeks) it has worked great!

Rated 4 out of 5Â by Mandi1979 So far, so good
I purchased this to use at our kitchen sink. I've gotten away from using all the chemical-filled soaps/products out there so I bought a large bottle of liquid castile soap and wanted to use that for hands. However, it's very runny when diluted so the regular pumps do not work well. I now use it with this pump and it's so much better. I've read other reviews that castile soap clogs up the pump, but so far it's worked great. It foams up very nicely and one or two pumps is all you need.

The suction cup holds really well to the small space I have on my sink...and it doesn't lose it's suckiness like some suction cups do. I also like the fact that you can take the suction cup out so that if your place of usage changes you aren't stuck with having to have the suction cup on it...reckon this will make it easy to keep clean and looking nice too.
Also very handy are the lines for filling up with soap and water.
Brilliant buy that looks good too.
Did I say suction cup enough times...no?

Looks great out and suctions well to the counter. Love that it uses less soap.
When I first filled it, it didn't foam well. But after a dozen or so pumps, it worked like a charm!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Tesla My daughter chose this product for her dorm room. She likes foam soap, and likes that this pump is refillable, thus being eco-friendly. We also think that having the suction cup on the bottom will help keep it in place on the counter.

I have been looking for an attractive soap pump that foams the soap... I've found it! This pump works fantastically, and I love the fact that it is suctioned to the counter top. (My husband likes to shift things around willy-nilly, this stops that.)
Caveat: since I only recently purchased this item, I don't know how sturdy/not sturdy it is, but so far so good.
