Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing These are great! Stop eating them less than 5 stars because user error and not hand washing. It literally takes two seconds to rinse them out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Storage, Hard to Wash I like these bins because they keep my berries fresh for a lot longer. The problem is that if the fruit does start to turn (or the liquid that dripped off) the mold grows in the slots of the colander and in the outer bin. This becomes very difficult to remove especially when you can't run it through the dishwasher. I was totally in love with these now I'm tired of cleaning them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these! I was hesitant to buy these at first due to the older negative reviews, but then I noticed that there were newer reviews that were more positive. I think they must have updated the design because I did end up buying a few of these and I love them. Have had grapes and raspberries in them for about a week and they are still totally fresh. Also the colander part lifts out of a surrounding bin, which prevents the berries from rolling out of the handles and allows for good moisture drainage. I definitely recommend these. Just remember to hand wash them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps berries fresh! I have a hard time keepimg my berries fresh for more than 2 days. I have tried everything!! These boxes were my last ditch effort. I washed my berries as usual and placed them in the container. I was shocked to realize that lasted for over a week!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not user friendly I bought this for my strawberries and blueberries, it kept them fresh but it was inconvenient in getting to my fruit because you have to pull the whole container out and make sure the lid doesn’t slip off every time I wanted some fruit, would’ve been easier if the inner container moved like drawer

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware not dishwasher safe I never dreamed I couldn’t put this In a Dishwasher. Which I did snd it warped and I went to container store description & says hand wash only. Who would think a food storage item would be hand wash? Well it really is people so save your 14 bucks on this overpriced junk

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great berry keepers! Help berries last longer, for perfectly ok fridge and look amazing. Make sure you read the instructions before washing they are hand wash only!. I love them
Date published: 2020-11-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not dishwasher safe Love all the other products but these should be dishwasher safe. Melted in the top rack, no packaging said it could be washed in the dishwasher. Now ruined. So dissatisfied

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hand Wash Only!! Ugh!! I love the style of the berry bin but since it isn’t labeled on the product, I put it in the dishwasher in the top rack. Warped !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional and looks good I think these look great. I love how well they stack. The colander works well for me; berries would have to be tiny to fall through. Maybe they redesigned in since the reviews complaining about that. There is now a sticker on these that indicates that they are hand wash only. My only complaint is that I wish it were easier to pull out-- I keep reaching for the little handle but it's on the colander not the outside of the bins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love these gins i use for berries and cut up veggies. they look great in my fridge which makes my family eat more healthy produce. they also help to keep moisture away from the produce and work well as a colander
Date published: 2020-11-12
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Dishwasher Safe Unfortunately I did not read the instructions to realize these produce bins are NOT dishwasher safe. Very bummed since I love The Home Edit. :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Melts in the dishwasher Great concept, however disappointing they aren’t dishwasher safe.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not dishwasher safe Enjoyed this bin until I put it in the dishwasher, not it is unusable. If you're like me and you like to sanitize plastic storage you may want to buy something that is dishwasher safe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Try to Remember, They Aren't Dishwasher Safe I really like the idea of the berry bins but they are not dishwasher safe (as noted on the website). However, how am i supposed to know they aren't dishwasher safe unless I look it up online before washing? (silly!) No notation on the product after its wrap is off. Not really user friendly. Was pretty bummed out when they came out of the dishwasher warped. Guess I should have taken the time to Google if they were dishwasher safe or not.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Should have read the copy on the website ... Should have read the reviews and the website description before buying. Do not put in the dishwasher - it warped and is unusable. Not practical.
Date published: 2020-10-12
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not super functional I bought three of these hoping they would not only look nice but extend the life of my fruit. They do look nice but there wasn't a noticeable difference in the longevity of my produce. In some instances I thought it actually shortened the life of them. The problem, in my opinion is the hole to lift the lid. It lets in a lot of air on a lid that isn't already sealed (just sits on top). My strawberries dried out. Although I like that the container allows for the berry juices to separate to reduce breakdown, the air still helped with producing mold. I tried moving them to my fruit drawer as well. But after trying berries in these and some in my reg. plasticware, plasticware still lasted a bit longer. These look nice but not worth the money function wise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely disappointing NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. At the time I bought this, there was no indication anywhere on the product or the website that this was not dishwasher safe. I see that has now been added after multiple reviews, but this should have come with a warning. Even washing it in the top rack it is completely wrapped - what a bunch of cheap garbage. I will not be buying home edit products in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh I just took these out of my fridge after using for 3 months. While the look and function is great, they just take up too much room. My berries lasted well but not longer than when I wash and store in their original container. If you have plenty of room these are nice but if you have a full fridge they're not!
Date published: 2020-09-27
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product--Do not put in Dishwasher!! I now see that this item is clearly stated as not dishwasher safe--unfortunately, this was after it became unusable after running through dishwasher. I never even thought to look if it was dishwasher safe. It seemed sturdy and as a storage container for food I just never thought to look. Great product--just wanted to warn others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love them! Personally, I love these berry bins. I haven’t had any issues with them, the berries have lasted longer than they usually do, and I don’t mind hand washing them. I bought them at the container store and the cashier warned me not to put the containers in the dishwasher. I looked online to buy some more and was surprised to see bad reviews, but now I’m realizing most of the reviews we dishwasher related. If you don’t mind the hand washing, I recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product (DO NOT PUT IN DISHWASHER) I love, love, love these. Unfortunately I put one of mine on the top rack of the dishwasher and it was ruined. I'd like to order another but they aren't in stock for delivery. Hurry up and restock-I need these in my life.
Date published: 2020-09-21
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Berries won't last for long I bought these thinking they looked so nice and were a perfect solution for storing our berries. I hate to say this, but the berries went bad faster in this bin than using an air-tight container. They are sturdy, fit well in my fridge, but it would have been nice to have a seal lid versus the open air lid.
Date published: 2020-09-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small for berries large for grapes I love this for my grapes or cherries. But not raspberries or strawberries. I recommend getting the small ones for actual berries.
Date published: 2020-09-06
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs a warning label Not dishwasher safe! I bought 2 small and one large and they are ruined. Insanely disappointed.
Date published: 2020-09-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these! I almost didn't purchase these when I saw the bad reviews... but, then I realized the bad reviews were all related to putting them in the dishwasher. No, they are not dishwasher safe. But, I don't find that the extra minute it takes me to hand wash them to be a deal breaker. I love that these keep my refrigerator clean... nothing is worse than raspberry juice all over the interior of the fridge! They have a clean, modern look modern and are also stackable.
Date published: 2020-08-01
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not as advertised. Berry bin is misleading name. First, it says the tray inside can be used as a colander which is untrue. It’s just a flat tray with holes - no way to hold anything. So you lose storage in the bottom which I get is the point. However you then have the big holes used as unnecessary handles on the sides taunting you thinking it’s a drawer, which would be a better design. Nope, the whole bin needs to come out to lift the top. So that means unstacking everything in the fridge. So you grab by the holes, which now only serve as escape windows for all the berries to come flying out of if you fill this thing even 1/3 of the way full. Basically it’s a big huge waste of overpriced plastic space and landfill at this point. So much potential, so much stupid shocking design
Date published: 2020-07-21
Rated 4 out of 5 by from cute but ehhh love the idea, love the organization. For access, you have to take off the flat top so you have to remove entire bin from fridge. Looking at the photos you see the bin handle, which I imagined would pull out because that would make sense, but it's top loading. I purchased a few, and the large one too. They work, but for the price, ehhhh. I'd wait for version two to come out!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So disappointing "Hand-washing recommended" really should be replaced with "don't put it in the dishwasher, even on the top rack, if you ever want to use it again." I'm so disappointed in this product, which is now in the trash as it is completely warped and unusable. When I did get to use it, I thought it was just okay. As others indicated, this was a missed opportunity to design it as a drawer, which would be much more functional and worth the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do. Not. Buy!!!! Horrible!! I paid $40+ for 3 of these products and they were completely ruined in my dishwasher!! Didn’t even get to use them at all. I’m calling the store today. This product is a waste and should 100% be dishwasher safe! Don’t waste your money on these products

Community Q&A

Do you use this to store berries/peppers/lettuce without anything else? No additional containers or ziploc bags??

Asked by: AULeslie
I don't put lettuce in mine. I keep lettuce (usually already washed) in the bags it comes in. Same with peppers, onions, broccolli, and other stuff. But yeah, mostly berries go into these for me because those go bad faster than anything else. I do wash the berries in a big bowl of cold water, run it through a colander (either the built-in one or one that's by the sink), blot them dry a couple of times, then pour them into these trays. I slice the stems off of strawberries, and I separate grapes from the stems before washing them. Same with cherries, but I don't remove the pits until I need them for cooking or a snack.

Do the berries go bad quickly? These arnt sealed containers and am hesitant to buy.

Asked by: Mel12
They extend the life of fruit, but only by a percentage. My suggestion is to figure on a week for things like strawberries that develop fur coats seemingly by the time you get home from the grocery store. So for that, they're worth it. But they don't have magical preservation powers, so bear that in mind. The biggest benefit for me is that they actually help me wash my fruit when I get home. Saving that time is a big deal, but later makes it easier to ACTUALLY EAT the fruit. It's already washed, and the bad grapes have been removed. And they don't have stems, so you can just pour them in a bowl and eat them. Simple!

How do they open?

How do these open? Like a drawer or do I need to remove the entire top?
Asked by: Yolly777
Yep, with a lid. So don't stack them too high or you'll find that the stuff in the bottom bins never gets eaten and starts growing fur like a white or green werewolf. Arooooooo! I keep them no higher than 2. They're on a shelf where I have enough clearance to do that and put something narrow/heavy on top of them (such as a bag or bin of lettuce, or a takeout container from a restaurant). But I try to keep them easy to access, otherwise they won't be doing what I need them to do: entice me to eat more fruit.
