Perfect for dining outdoorsThese are great for when we are dining outdoors. The lids protect the contents from flies and bugs and nothing can splash out when I am setting the table. We just set them down in the ice bucket to keep everything chilled. I use them for juice, milk, and iced tea.

Love this carafe!I went to three stores close to my home looking for this and every one of them sold similar items but of a lower quality and without lids. This is a very thick glass and well worth the price. I bought four of them and use them for my fresh squeezed juices.

Great for iced teaI love this carafe. Perfect for making tea with one of Lipton's Cold Brew large tea bags. Then add 4 packages of Sweet n Low and you have perfect tea. Only complaint is that lid is flimsy.

Not for JuicingI bought this carafe for juicing. This is a nice glass carafe, but I found it difficult to clean because if you store the juice that is made from juicing it produces a film that is so difficult to clean inside the carafe. I think the plastic top is probably not a tight enough seal for juicing. However, I think the carafe is probably fine for other uses.

Bought as a gift, got to go get a 2ndThis was totally intended as a wedding gift, but I loved it so much I had to buy a second for myself. Love the plastic snap lid to keep juice fresh. Great size for refrigerator and looks nice on the brunch table.

Great CarafeI was looking for a container to store filtered water in. I filter my water in advance using a sink mounted filter and store it so it's easier to grab a container and fill the coffee maker, travel water bottle, etc. I wanted glass and something easy to clean. Many containers have convoluted lids which can harbor bacteria and are hard to clean. This carafe met all my needs! The lid is a simple plastic cover and very easy to clean. The carafe also pours well without spilling down the side.

Bang for your buck!This is an awesome carafe! I had been searching online and in stores for a carafe with a lid and I was so happy to have found this at The Container Store! It is not the least bit thin/fragile, it has a good weight to it and holds quite a bit! All in all, this is a well made product, and for this price you really are getting a bang for your buck!

Best Juice storage!!I bought this carafe to store the vegetable juices we make every week. It holds a lot and the glass is thick and of good quality, which is the only reason i got this. I just don't recommend polycarbonate. Also, the mouth of this carafe is wide enough, which makes it easier to clean. Highly recommend it!

Simple and ElegantAt Christmas time, my husband's extended family went to an upscale restaurant for dinner. The waitress left carafes like this on the table filled with ice water. I must have poured myself 10 glasses of water over the course of the evening (seriously). I loved that its shape made it so easy to grip.
I guess I wanted to recreate that fine dining atmosphere at home, so I went on the search for a carafe. I did want a glass one. While you can find them most everywhere, The Container Store was the only place I found that provides the plastic lid, which is what sold me on their product. I wanted the lid because I knew I would use it to keep water in the fridge.
The carafe has a nice weight to it, yet is not too heavy when filled with water. Even tho I had to pay more than I wanted for shipping, it was worth it, and it did come wrapped in the package very professionally.
I keep the carafe filled with water and lemon in the fridge. I found it really dresses up a casual dinner table, too!

perfect for my needs.using them to store home made iced tea. (remember to cool the liquid down before pouring it in the carafe) kind of tall for my fridge shelf, but perfect size for my fridge door. they do drip - but not too bad. we wanted something nice that could be used in the fridge and to bring to table. makes dinner look like eating at an italian bistro. a huge plus is the plastic cap! and glass is chemical free.

Great for COLD liquidsI loved this carafe until I poured boiling water in it (thinking glass should not be a problem) and the carafe body separated from the bottom cleanly at the seam, sending boiling water all over the counter. So, boiling liquids are not suitable for this carafe. But it was great for cold and warm tea while it lasted...

Perfect CarafeIn my quest to make 'the switch' from plastic to glass, I couldn't have found a better carafe. It's sturdy, the lid seals well (enough for my purposes - I don't shake the contents), size is perfect for the table and looks better than a clunky pitcher.

Great carafe for a great priceI love this carafe. We fill it with oj for our weekend breakfasts and brunches. The lid is useful for keeping the juice in the fridge prior to serving. I shopped around quite a bit for a good carafe and this is an excellent deal. It is sturdy and good quality.

best price aroundWe have a b&b and wanted these carafes for cereal. We can fill them up every day or two with fresh cereals and put them out for guests to pour how much they want without having to touch the cereal itself. We had to have the carafes with the lids to keep the cereal fresh. We saw these in a store for $8 each and searched the internet for a better price. This IS the best price. Many places have them from $6-$8 each, but without the lid. Some sites will even tell you that there is no lid. Can't beat this price. They are perfect - durable, sanitary for what we need, easy to clean and store. Love them! They meet our needs and guests think it's a unique way to present cereals (rather than just putting out boxes).

is this lid secure enough to shake up the contents?
I make kefir which separates as it has been sitting in the fridge so I need to shake it up before pouring it out. If I held onto the lid while shaking would this be leak proof, or with one good shake would it pop off or start dripping?
also, does it pour smoothly? I have been using jars and it just kind of dribbles down the side as I'm pouring...

Is there any way I can buy just the cap? I seem to have lost mine
Aren't girlfriends just the best? The ones you can pour out your soul with…laugh until your stomach hurts…cry until your mascara runs and they don't care. I wouldn't make it without them.
