Yuck: Discolored & SmellyThe first time I put this through the dishwasher - the collapsible part turned an unappealing yellowish-brown. Yuck. Then after a few uses - I noticed that it held the smells of things we had used it to cover - even after washing. Yuck. I would return it if the store were closer.

It's OKThe cover works well and is a good size and height when expanded.
The only problem is, it is hard to grip. The indention on the top is very shallow and is difficult to pinch, especially if you have large fingers.
It is smoothe and slippery. A little texture on the pinch tab during the moulding process would solve the problem nicely.

Just what I needed!I had been looking for some sort of cover for my dishes to heat food on my microwave. I went to Macy's as well as other specialty stores but did not find exactly what I wanted until I went to the Container Store. These covers are perfect. They heat the food evenly and quickly. I love them. I bought three and my mom asked me for one. I am going back to replace the one I gave her.

So usefulI purchased this for myself, then my sister bought one, then we each went back and purchased three more for gifts! Microwaves are now always clean. I put mine in the dishwasher and then set it back in the microwave to be used again......no more splatters in the microwave!

Love and use it every weekI am strongly considering buying a second dish cover, I love it so much. As the other reviewer noted, it is sturdy and rigid. I greatly appreciate these qualities since it can be cleaned on the top or bottom rack of my dishwasher and it can stand being tossed into cabinets and drawers with my metal pots and pans.
It's about 3 and 1/8 inches tall when fully extended so it has always worked quite well for all my purposes and I've had mine for 2-3 years at this point. It works as well now as when I bought it so I couldn't be happier.

Not The Best DesignI'm not one for writing negative reviews, but this is the worst product I've ever seen at Container Store. I wanted to love it because of its obvious appearance and collapsibility. There are two things wrong with this food cover: 1) it does not expand high enough over a plate at all and 2) the food cover is made from such a rigid plastic that it is a struggle to expand and collapse it. There were also obvious signs of wear when I tried to open and close for the first time.
Honestly, I think this would work out so terrific if the material was made exactly like the collapsible colander. I was just not happy with this purchase and returned it today. I wish it looked just like the picture.
