Used for coffee, now wish I didn'tHad one of these for a while, used mostly for dry goods. Started using it for ground coffee and after a while realized the clear plastic parts get stained brown and hold the smell, so can't use these for anything else but coffee now. For ground coffee these aren't ideal anyways, the suction causes grounds to stick to the plunger, which creates a big mess whenever you open it up. Wish I could return but don't have the receipt and had this for a long time already.

Great Product, Poor PackagingThe product is great, and it comes in a variety of colors and finishes that TCS doesn’t offer. By packaging, I mean the sticker on the stainless steel. When I peeled it off, I saw a substantial difference in the finish that was underneath the sticker and the finish on the balance of the exterior. I tried washing and using stainless steel cleaner, but a uniform surface appearance was not achieved.

Keeps Coffee Fresh...I use for coffee, chia seeds, and flaxseed storage. I have four of these containers, one in Candy Apple Red and three in the Stainless Steel. Very easy to use and fits in cabinets or can used on counters. Since I have a small kitchen, these are in my cabinets. I plan on purchasing two of the smaller canisters in Candy Apple Red from other vendors since TCS only sells in Stainless Steel.
Note: There were some issues when removing the labels - some came off easily and others left sticky residue. I was able to use Dawn and hot water to remove but it did take a couple of tries. I also made labels to easily identify contents (lid is clear but not able to see contents due to one way valve which keeps air out).

Doesn't sealBought this product for coffee because it has 2 seals, figured it would be good. Inner seal goes down to the level of the coffee inside the can... it doesn't make a good seal. Easily pulls up and down in either locked or unlocked position. The outer lid has silicon ring for a second seal. it usually works itself open by the the next morning when I make my next pot of coffee.
I usually buy coffee in 2 pound bags. This holds about one pound, so half the beans stay in the bag. The bag absolutely keeps the beans fresher than the $25 container.
Don't waste your money.

Saved my coffee!This container saved my coffee beans. I bought a fairly large quantity of roasted coffee beans, unaware of the reduced quality in coffee from grinding roasted beans exposed to light and air. The Airscape container forces out air and blocks light, saving the quality of my morning coffee!

Great CanistersI bought the small canister for storing ground coffee. Smart design and does the job for a fair price. Anyway, I won't grind more than three days worth of beans and the container keeps all light away with the metal base and opaque inner lid. I like it so much I purchased a second one for a different type of bean, and one large canister to store whole bean coffee. Works for me!
Sure you could go crazy and purchase a vacuum type canister but that will set you back 50 bucks or more.

Product Looks Great, Functions Well!I'm very happy with this product. It's got a great sleek appearance, fitting for any kitchen. It does a fairly good job of keeping food fresh as well. I have been using the two I purchased to keep coffee and grains fresh. I can really tell the difference in the flavor of my coffee--especially when freshly roasted beans go right into the container! The only improvement I can imagine would be to have some sort of vacuum pump to remove all air.

Fresh coffee beans at room temperatureWe formerly stored unground coffee beans in the freezer, but didn't like grinding them in the burr grinder while still frozen. This product solved the dilemma. The beans stay fresh and ready for grinding. We now have two small containers for coffee beans, since the smaller container won't hold 1 pound of coffee.

Classy airtight container for storing coffeeI did a lot of researching online before I bought this product. I like this product because it is reasonably priced, looks nice and keeps the air out. Many of the other products I looked at had a valve that kept the air out, but the valve also needed to be replaced from time to time. With this product, you push the lid down into the container until it reaches the product inside. Thus, the air is kept out of the container. I bought 4 of them and may buy more in the future.

Better for petsSince air and light are the enemies of food, we switched to this container for cat and dog kibble (rather than constantly opening/closing 5 different bags for various animals). Our one finicky cat is eating more of the healthier grain-free kibble (though she eats lots of wet food too) since switching from a glass container to this one.
(As to brown sugar hardening that one reviewer mentioned, even the barest bit of air will harden it, so it's best stored in a plastic bag with all air removed and put in a dark place.)

The perfect design!I have purchased many stainless steel canisters but this one is by far THE BEST! I love to bake and keep brown sugar in one of them. Each time I open it, the sugar is fresh and remains soft (very important). I will only buy AIRSCAPE from now on. I am hoping they will introduce larger sizes to their product line.

Excellent productThis was a great purchase! It is very important to grind my coffee beans just before brewing. I have tried many other cannisters. The dual system works great and the canister is airtight. My beans remained fresh for a very long time.

Ground coffee capacity?
How many pounds of ground coffee does each container hold (the 32 and the 64oz, respectively)? I've seen elsewhere that the 64oz container holds 1 pound of whole bean coffee, but ground coffee should take up less space.

Does the Airscape allow outgassing?
I would like to store coffee beans in the Airscape. CO2 gas at ambient conditions slowly leaves roasted beans and freshly roasted beans are loaded with CO2, especially decaf coffee. I want to know if the canisters have a way of venting the CO2 (while maintaining a vacuum, of course). Thanks!

The whole out gassing issue of CO2 degrading coffee beans is a big farce. Just look this up on the Internet. It’s O2 - oxygen, which degrades the beans ( or any other dried food, which is stored). By pushing down the inner lid, then pressing the handle down, locks out any oxygen from degrading the beans. It’s been said that any small amount of CO2 off gassing from coffee beans can actually help preserve them. I don’t know about that, but don’t get caught up in the CO2 claims from sellers telling you their canister keeps your coffee beans fresh. It’s a fallacy!
