Kitchen essentialBought another one of these. They store food well- lids are super tight but easy to open and close, clean them in dishwasher, glass is safer, great buy in my book!

Very difficult to close! This container will not leak and is oven safe as described BUT
super - difficult to close (unless your name is Superman). I totally recommend The Container Store because of their satisfaction guarantee but consider a different option in food storage containers.

Lids are hard to snapI’ve had a couple of the round Glasslock containers for a few years and love them, so I thought I would try the 3.5 cup rectangular containers. They’re the perfect size for lunches, but the lids are so hard to snap on. I can only get one long side to snap closed, not all four sides. I’m hoping as I use them more the lids will be easier to snap on.

ExcellentI have been using these for about a year now. Lids have an excellent airtight seal. Product is holding up well. I just wish they would make one a size larger.

Love 'em!I love these things! I prep all my meals at the beginning of the week and these are exactly what I was looking for.
The containers AND the lids nest well, I can remove the seal to clean, and the 3 cups ones are surprisingly light in weight.

I'm slowly converting my storage containers to glass and these are perfect. The 28oz. rectangles are perfect to take my leftovers to work for lunch.

Prone to Shattering and Mold GrowthDespite claims of being shatter-resistant, these containers shatter fairly easily. They also have a couple of lid issues. The lid often seals onto the container and becomes difficult to remove making it nearly impossible to access the contents without a massive struggle. The seal is also prone to mold growth and though it's removable with A LOT of effort, it's a constant extra step of cleaning.

Old time space savers rate A1+Years ago I bought plastic containers for leftovers. Thankfully they have dried out and broke into sharp plastic slivers. ENTER THE GLASSLOCK.... oh, yeah! Now THIS is the way to save leftovers!. Air tight, see thru, easy to clean, slip the cover off and pop it in the microwave way to make lunch or add a "side dish" from leftovers. Some times the old ways of doing things are the best.

Great buyI'm getting away from plastic containers and like the size of this container. Great for leftovers. I can also reheat them in the same container. Like the snap lid.

Nice container, but flawed lid designAttractive product, but we found the latching flaps on the sides of the lids were far too easy to break. We bough several of the Glasslock storage containers and already broke two lids within less than a month of usage. Plastic wrap of aluminum foil will keep these containers sealed from now on, but I won't buy this particular product again.

Great and durable!I got a few of these to try to help organize my freezer - mainly freezing herbs from my garden and such and not having them in just pastic bags. So far they have held up great and are easy to open. Very pleased.

Great ProductI had been searching for a container that would hold a single helping of the stew I make for my husband. The 3.1 cup Glasslock Round is perfect. I am extremely happy with my purchase and look forward to buying more in the future.

Convenient glassJust a simple way to store in a safe environment. They have a nice tight seal with the comfort of using glass. I use the smaller one to store hash-brown patties in the freezer, and it's great.

Good, sturdy, stackableI'm ditching plastic and trying to find glass replacements for the sizes I use most often. These are great containers and stack or nest inside of each other. What I mean is that if you were to get multiple items of the same size, you can stack them without lids on for more efficient storage. If you have a tiny kitchen, this is a big win.
My only wish is that they had one larger size; I have the small and medium and will eventually purchase the largest size they carry, but an even larger version would come in handy.
My only negative is that sometimes the snaps are hard to close.

Environmentally Great Way to Store FoodI love these containers. I keep purchasing more as my older plastic storage containers wear out. These are made of heavy glass. I have not broken one yet in the two years we have used them with kids. The lids are a little difficult for the grandparents in the family to get on and off but we are always around to help. I use these in the freezer, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. I do wash my lids by hand.

Perfect Indiv. Serving Size but lids can be diceyI'd give it five stars but even though I am very strong I generally have trouble getting the fourth snapper to engage. The first three -- no problem. I have to sometimes lift the lid on and off, turn it around, and other shenanigans to get the fourth doodad to lock down. They stack great in the freezer, are a perfect individual serving size, nestle nicely in the cabinet, and clean up easily. None have ever kept a strong scent or stained regardless of what I stored.

Storing LeftoversI adore these Glasslock containers for storing leftovers. The body is made of glass so I don't worry about putting them into the microwave (or even the oven, though that's less common) to reheat the leftovers. They also stack really well with each other, making it easier to organize my fridge to see what I have.

Store, reheat and eatThese Glasslock square containers were exactly what I needed when bringing my lunch the work. They are spill proof when the top locks and microwave safe, unlike plastic. Then easy to clean with no staining. A smart solution.

Get Rid of Plastic! These are great and I have been slowly getting rid of all plastic storage. They come in varying sizes and keep food very fresh. No problems at all with lids as it is just a tight seal.

Good, But...I primarily use them for salad to bring to work for lunch. No leaking in my lunch bag. The one complaint is trying to close them. Sometimes I have to slap the side flap to get it to close. it is very loud.

Lids are difficultIn theory, these are great. The shape is good, and I love the glass. The lids are VERY difficult to operate however. I find them stiff and hard to close. If you have any arthritic issues or just weakness in the hands, you'd never get them closed at all. I've had them for a few months, never use them, and sure wish I could return them.
Absolutely! That’s how our’s are washed every time. Never had a problem. We do place them on top rack only.

Can you microwave with the lid unlocked?
The container store website says not to microwave the lid, but the Glasslock website says, "Do not keep lids locked on while microwaving. May cause over-compression in the container." The issue seems to be the pressure build up, not that materials in the lids are not microwaveable. Can you confirm? I imagine many users would like to microwave with the lid loosely on, unlocked, and perhaps slightly askew to avoid splatter.
Asked by: GreenDevil
Yes, perfectly okay to use loosely placed to prevent splatters. Manufacturing directions are correct!

Can containers of the same size be stacked/nested when stored?
I'd love to purchase these containters for packing lunches, but want to be able to nest glassware of the same size when they're being stored. It's difficult to tell from the pictures, can anyone who has purchased these say if they are able to be nested within each other when stacked?
Asked by: Azmanda
Not really, though you can stack them a bit. Smaller sizes neat nicely.

What should be done to avoid damage to the lid from freezer use?
I am concerned because of a previous question where the user states the lids cracked after being in the freezer. Is this due to product defect or user error? If product defect, will The Container Store replace the product?
Asked by: Granreina
Haven't frozen my set yet, but I'm wondering if you allowed time for the cap seal to defrost a bit before unclicking it. Plastic stuff can be very stiff while frozen. Just thinking...

Are replacement lids available for the Glasslock Squares?
The lids on the Glasslock Food Storage containers become extremely brittle when they are used to store food in the freezer. I have had several of the side snaps on the lids break, rendering the top useless. Are replacement lids available for the Glasslock Squares?

Manufacturer website has replacement lids.

are lids hard to lock?
I had to return the Oxo Good Grips Glass lock containers because the lids would not lock/close. Are these easy or must you constantly align etc to lock the lids
Asked by: rinda
Our Glasslock Rounds are easy to lock by applying slight downward pressure on the lid and clasping close.
