Rated 4 out of 5 by Medical from My boyfriend and I have trouble with portion control of some pastas like spaghetti and angel hair. I thought this would be a good thing to have so we would take out the perfect amount for an individual serving or to share it for dinner. However the container was too tall for the cabinets we currently have in our apartment. I may consider buying this product again if we find an apartment that has taller cabinets.

Is the lid removable for washing?

I do not think it comes off completely, however the lid bends back all the way and you can even put it on the top rack of the dishwasher. I clean it that way when I buy new ones, however the really tall pasta and cereal containers may be too tall for some dishwashers. They can easily be washed in the sink/by hand. I love these storage containers; I feel sure that the air tight seal keeps out all moisture unlike other versions of food storage containers. Also, the snap closure tells you it's tight and nothing is getting there! The smaller containers fit nicely on top in a cupboard or pantry or even the fridge which is where I keep my grains.
