Rated 3 out of 5 by from Yes, your cabinets can be too deep for this. Looks nice but had to return it

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice drawers, but didn't work for us... The drawers appear well made and nice looking. Unfortunately, our pantry door is much narrower than the pantry shelves. Thus, while this drawer would slide out the pantry door opening, far too much space remained on the sides of the pantry shelves to make these beneficial. We returned them unused. Look at your opening to ensure you won't lose a lot of side shelf space due to the cabinet or door opening where you intend to use these. Fortunately, Container store is very good with returns.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good for the price - kitchen drawers Look nice, make it possible to get to the back of the cabinet - great. I gave it a 4 because it does not pull out smoothly but per my husband, those that do cost MUCH more. So I am satisfied. THX!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a space saver! I love these drawers! The ones that came with the cabinets fell apart. I needed something to help organize this space and these drawers did the trick! Easy to install as long as you measure properly. Nice deep drawer that doesn't allow items to topple over. Heavy duty and easy sliding out and in. I just love them! I wish I had more space so I could add more!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Listed Measurement off The dimensions on the box are for a single door cabinet, not two doors, so the shelves are a hair too big. The person who was installing them for me said the next size down may fit, but there would be a lot of extra space on the sides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problem Solver! These are great rollouts! As others stated, easy to install, heavy duty and now we can store much more and all in one location! Before we had the canned goods in a couple different locations. Now, with the rollouts, everything is convenient to find. Such an improved use of space! I actually kept the old shelves in to install- just to mark and level the brackets, then I removed the shelf before installing the brackets. Really made it simple!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome For Deep Pantry These are my favorite go- to drawers when I have a client tell me they hate the shelves in their pantry or cabinet. As a Professional Organizer, I am always looking for time- tested, affordable products for my clients and these Bamboo Roll-Out Cabinet Drawers are at the top of my list. Easy to install, solid construction, and very pleasing to the eye. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best kitchen organizers ever These bamboo cabinet drawers are awesome! My husband installed four of them in our cabinet. Now Its so easy to put things away when I get home from shopping. One drawer is for sweet snacks, one is for salty snacks, one is for all my baking ingredients and one is for household items, i.e., over the counter meds, batteries, trash bags, etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from If only they came with the proper hardware Great drawers. Solidly built, nice quality bamboo- smooth, not splintery, equal on all sides and bottom. Look nice in my cabinets, and really help to increase my storage space. HOWEVER: the front glide mounting screws included to attach the cabinet glides are TOO SMALL. They fall right through the holes in the metal bars, so there’s no way they will securely hold them to the cabinet walls. Fortunately I was able to find some screws that would work, but it’s pretty pathetic that they didn’t bother to ensure that the included hardware was the correct size. Very poor quality control

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product but pay attention to cabinet depth Got a couple of these for our pantry cabinet. Installed them in the "bottom mount" configuration on 2 of the shelves. They are good looking, sturdy, REALLY easy to install (got 2 of them installed in < 30 minutes with nothing more than a power screwdriver), and totally functional. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the description and instructions do not mention anything about a maximum cabinet depth. We have very deep cabinets. I knew the drawers wouldn't fill the entire depth, which is fine because we don't use the back anyway so no loss. BUT, I was unable to use the provided brackets for installation because they are supposed to attach to the back of the cabinet. So if your cabinet is more than 1-2 inches deeper than the minimum depth listed, you're in trouble. As it turns out, easy to work around. Just get some 1/2" "conduit straps" (the u-shaped metal brackets with tabs that are usually used to secure electrical conduit). Works just fine. But would have been nice to know ahead of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Manufacturing useable space! My kitchen has two large under-counter cabinet spaces. The problem is that each cabinet door is all the way to the right. So stuff I store to the far left is difficult to access. With two roll out drawers mounted perpendicular to each other, the problem is solved! One drawer is mounted to roll out of the cabinet. The other drawer is mounted all the way to the left, positioned (and shimmed) to slide over the tracks of the first drawer. Viola! Maybe storing pots and pans isn't the sexiest application, but this is certainly functional and practical and makes my life easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific product! I bought bamboo drawers for my pantry and all of my lower cabinets. If you're reasonably handy (can measure, mark, drill holes, and install screws), you can do this yourself. I thought it was easy to do, though I worked slowly to be sure I had everything lined up correctly. I'm delighted with the results. Now I can see everything in my cabinets -- no more lost stuff in the far back reaches. The drawers are very nice looking, slide easily, and made a big difference in the usefulness of my limited cabinet space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Solution This drawer fit perfectly in my single, under-sink cabinet. I couldn't buy anything higher than 8", so this fits, even allowing for a stack of hand towels in the middle (where the pipe is). It was also easy to install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Convenience I have been fighting the stack of bowls and containers in my lower cabinet forever. It's was a real pain, literally, to bend down and try to reach the back of the cabinet. Now I can easily find what I am looking for. Waited for a coupon to help with the cost and so glad I finally purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! I tend to be frugal (OK, cheap) and these felt a bit high for my budget. Not anymore! I decided to try a couple when they were on sale and that proved to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. They are good looking, easy to install, strong, and they slide like a breeze. I previously bought a less expensive cabinet drawer and you really do get what you pay for. There is no comparison. I will be adding these bamboo drawers to the rest of my cabinets shortly. They are really a back saver!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent purchase! We have a floor-to-top cabinet that is deep and wide, making it difficult to see what canned goods, etc. are behind the front items. The 20" drawers meet our needs so well that we will purchase 3 more. Sturdy, easy to install and perfect for our needs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Purchase for my Kitchen Cabinets These drawers are easily installed and are a very solid quality product. If you pre-drill the holes, the sliders go in so easily. My husband was amazed in the quality of this product. The fact that each drawer holds up to 80 lbs. is impressive. We installed 6 drawers in less than 1 1/2 hours. My kitchen has never been this organized!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for I knew I wanted roll-outs in my cabinets from the moment I moved in. These are the only ones I managed to find that are ready-to-install, relatively inexpensive, and don't require bottom installation (leaving the original shelving in place and just putting the drawer on top, which I was trying to avoid). Even a "custom kitchen solutions" store was going to charge me almost $7k to retrofit my kitchen and the original shelving still would have been there. Contrastingly, these look SO much better in my cabinets without the extra shelf under, the bamboo is beautiful. I agree with others that the install is easy, though I installed these in a tall cabinet by myself and ended up with a few shelves that are a little hard to slide because the backs aren't perfectly where they should be--I'll have to take these out and try again for a smoother slide. Additionally, when I load these up with heavy things, even if the glide started out smooth, and even though I'm not near the weight limit, they get stuck halfway through being pushed back in and require being lifted a little bit to get all the way back in the cabinet. Finally, I wish the bottom-mount installation didn't still require screwing into the back of the cabinet as I have cabinets in my kitchen island that I'd like these in and I can't screw through the back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made We purchase these drawers because we "lost" items in the back of the lower kitchen cabinets and we didn't want wire shelving. The drawers are well made and strong. The instructions are excellent, but installation was not "smooth." Since we were retrofitting the drawers into existing cabinets, we knew it would require some carpentry. Since the drawers only come in 2" increments, we had to add a center bar and side spacers. We had the tools and expertise so it wasn't a problem for us, but other people may want to hire a contractor. The final results were great, just what we wanted. We plan to add these drawers to all our lower cabinets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality These pull out drawers were the perfect solution to our deep, wide pantry cabinet. I could never find or see what was in the back, and the shelves were so close together it was hard to reach to the back. I think they were a bit pricey for what they were, but we couldn't find them anywhere else so waited for a coupon and bit the bullet! They were worth it!
Date published: 2016-02-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great find I love these! They are well made, easy to install and strong. I could never reach the things in the back of the cabinet so I would sit on the floor to take everything in the front out to reach the back. Very happy with them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made and a bargain I just re-did my entire kitchen, and I have two tall and deep cabinets to each side of my refrigerator that are serving as "pantry" units. I made the mistake of ordering one of them with pull-out drawers, but the other with fixed shelves, which I thought would be more stable for larger items. I immediately realized I needed drawers on both -- but the price and lead-time involved in ordering new parts from the cabinet maker were both prohibitive. I ordered these reluctantly, expecting them to be junk and most likely returning them. But they are BETTER than the pull-out drawers that came direct from the cabinet maker. The sides are taller, they are more sturdy, and prettier. I'm putting them in other cabinets that I had intended to have fixed shelves, because they are so easy to install and make getting to everything so much easier. Installation was easy, and they're holding up very very well. The drawer holding canned goods is bearing an enormous amount of weight and not having any problem.

Community Q&A

Is 16 3/4 inch wide cabinet too wide for 14" wide roll-out?

I know 15" is recommended, but is 16 and 3/4 inch too wide?
Asked by: 8515
You have 2 options to mount a smaller drawer in a larger cabinet: 1. Mount to the floor of the cabinet or to an existing shelf 2. Install "side-shims" (my made up term) to be able to screw the drawer mounts into the side of the cabinet. I elected to do this option, because my existing shelves were not full wood shelves, but were more cheaply made fake wood. I've included some photos below To do this, you need to first measure the exact different between the size of the cabinet and the width of the metal drawer mounts. Then, divide that by 2, and that will be the width of your 2 "side-shims" of wood. So, for instance, if you have a 19" cabinet, and have the two 17" drawers, you would need 2 blocks of wood each 1" thick. I found it easiest to place the shims temporarily when the shelves were still in the cabinet, and could pre-drill the holes; then remove the shelf, and then screw the shims into place. From there, if you already marked (and pre-drilled) the holes for the actual drawer mounts, its as easy as screwing those into place!

Include cabinet hinges in opening size?

I have a cabinet with 12" opening, except where there are hinges, which locally reduce the opening to 11.5". I would like to install several drawers in this cabinet, and I only expect the hinge to possibly interfere with the drawer mounted at the base of the cabinet. Would I be able to base mount an 11" drawer (where the cabinet hinge is and the effective opening becomes 11.5"), and side mount the other 11" drawers (where the opening is 12")?
Asked by: WTNFC
The box is 11" (or 14, 17, or 20") and the slides require 1/2" additional on each side. That is why they state you need an additional inch in width for installation. That could probably be reduced to 3/8" on each side, 3/4" total, and still work. If your hinge intrudes a full 1/2" into the space, it will almost certainly rub on the side of the box even if it does not prevent you from attaching the slide. As the box slides in and out it has some wobble from side to side, so to prevent conflict you need more space than 11.5". I had a situation like that and a good solution I worked out was to use the Bamboo Roll-Out for an upper pull out, side mounted, where the hinge was not in the way, and at the cabinet floor I used a different product, the Chrome Roll-Out drawers (product Id 10017298) which require a shelf or cabinet bottom to attach to, and are only 11' wide with slides underneath, so it can be shifted over enough to clear the hinge intrusion.

Recommendation for anchors?

The rear of my cabinets is very thin material. I'm concerned about installing the rear bracket onto the back of the cabinet wall. Is there a way to install the rear bracket to the cabinet bottom? Or can you recommend an anchor that would be appropriate for this application?
Asked by: CTinAZ
I had the same problem! I use L-brackets (or corner mounts) to attach a small piece of wood in the back of my cabinet. I was then able to screw the drawer mount into that piece of wood, rather than the thin material that was originally at the back of my cabinets. I have included some pictures that should help!

My cabinet is 12 1/8, but at the hinges it's only 11 11/16. Could these drawers work? How much space must I leave between drawers?

I could install them avoiding the hinges but then I would not be able to use all the space.
Asked by: Arturo
We had less that 3/4" side clearance total and the web site stated that 1" total clearance was needed but our (side-mounted) drawers fit with room to spare. If your second question is asking about vertical space between drawers, you'd probably need about 1" between drawers. The mounting track extends 1/2-5/8" below each drawer so 1" should allow enough room for sliding the lower drawer in and out without a chance of scraping on the hardware of the drawer above it.

Asked by: Mlr8772
No. I was counting on the reported product depth of 21", but the mounting slides are 23" fully assembled. The product did not work for my 22" deep cabinet, and I don't think it would work for a 22.5" deep cabinet, either. Big disappointment; the drawer itself looks great.

Can this be used under bathroom cabinets?

I have a very small master bath and had originally thought of replacing the standard size vanity that only has cabinet doors with one that has drawers instead. Will these work in a standard size bathroom cabinet (with install on one side of the interior cabinet) as I need to leave room for the drain piping?
Asked by: mjelutrio
I don't see why not - just carefully measure your space. We're using the narrow drawers under our smooth-top range and it works great!
