A complete Joy!I bought this in white several years back after moving into a condo with a small entry closet. Think I bought it at the store. I have regular meetings at my place with eight additional adults, and would have had to empty the entire closet to hold their winter coats. Hung this on the wall behind the front door, and since walls and woodwork are white, it barely shows. And, when properly installed, it has held 8 large adult winter coats, scarfs, hats, etc., and when needed all the hang-up items of visiting house guests. I love it and it is discrete, but very sturdy. Since I purchased it, I have seen it in countless doctor's offices, and other locations where additional hanging space has been needed. I love it!

Good product but .....This is my third Umbra Flip Hook Rack. Beautiful to look at and well made. However difficult to fix to wall as paper template did not match mounting holes. Also mounting holes not level. Had I not first checked things out I would have drilled my wall wrong and/or the rack would not have been installed perfectly level.

Beautiful and functionalI have wanted this rack for awhile but didn't have a specific need for it. Finally decided to purchase the 8-hook version to hang a small collection of puppets/marionettes from as a wall art option. Works perfectly! As always, Container Store products are very good quality and the hardware is always complete and good quality. Easy install made even better due to the handy template included.

Perfect!I wanted hooks for our home. I did not want the traditional hooks that you hang and stick out of the wall. This item was perfect for my needs. When not in use you simply flip the hooks back to the closed position. And of course, flip it open when you need to hang something. Love this! Husband had no problem hanging with included hardware.

Love them!The larger size is just slightly too big to fit on the back of a door. Other than they are great for organizing scarfs on the back of a door. Belts, costume jewelry and anything else that needs a nice looking home.

Umbra Flip HooksThese racks are handsome, sleek, well designed, made of natural wood with matte nickel-tone metal finish hooks that fold flat when not in use. I purchased them to use in my Master Bathroom makeover. They could have been installed behind the door or on the wall as I have used them.

FLip Hook RackWe bought this because the hooks fold up when you are not using it to hang up your coats. We liked this feature because it hung behind the front door and the door didn't get dented if opened into the wall if the hooks were folded in when not in use.

Excellent productCouldn't be happier with the look or the performance of this flip-hook rack. I bought the 5-hook version to hang 3 large towels, wet and dry, in our just-remodeled, contemporary bathroom. The espresso finish is perfect with the espresso cabinets and the satin nickel fixtures.

Can I "love" a hook rack? YES!This rack looks good, even with nothing on it.....but even when it's full I still love it! It holds a bunch: jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies & bags can be tamed by this thing! With 4 kids and all their stuff, this makes our front door mess manageable. Never thought I would say I "love" this flip hook rack!!!

So sleek and stylish...and functional!We bought this coat rack because the previous one stuck out too far. This is perfect because the hooks are flush with the board when not being used; and even when they are being used, they don't stick out very far at all! It's also very nice looking.

PerfectOriginally looked for a hall tree...all were too large, too clunky, too not the right thing. This was perfect. easy to install and looks gorgeous. We had a house full of adults and kids and everyone's coat was on it. Perfect for a small (or even not-so-small) space.

Awesome and sleekI needed a coat rack to hold the coats we wear everyday since putting these coats in the closet and removing was a pain to begin with. Quick access was the plus for me without crowding a chair. It looks really nice while not in use without being an obstacle mounted on the wall behind the front door. Install was fairly simple but I didn't like the cheesy anchors provided. Used some ingenuity with a couple remaining elfa drywall anchors, nuts, and washers to achieve the same mounting results with the added reliability and strength with the elfa anchors.

Wonderful productI bought the oak flip hook rack and a friend helped me install it on my

The Best Wall Rack for Coats!!Purchased for a professional office with very limited space. Not only does it look fantastic - multiple compliments from clients - but it it is so functional. The fact that the hooks flip up when they aren't in use means that it tucks very nicely behind the door. It also accommodates multiple garments at the same time without a problem. Love These Hooks!We upgraded from some plastic command hooks we had been using for coats and love these. They hold more weight than the previous hooks and these hooks don't get caught in the coats as my kids are taking things off. Plus they look great, both empty and folded away, and full. They sit very close to the wall and don't take up a ton of room. I have already received multiple compliments on them.

Fantastic Product, Super Stylish!These were super easy to put up on the wall. They are built really sturdy and hold a lot. We have a house with limited space and have two of these in different areas. The best thing is they look great flipped down or flipped up because they have such a beautiful clean look. My husband likes them because he thinks they look modern and masculine. We have them in the Espresso color.

Stylish coat solutionLove this product. I bought the large one in the espresso color a couple years ago. It's hung above a bench in a make shift mud room area. Except my "mud room" is in my kitchen/great room and has to look stylish while solving coat/backpack/scarf/ purse/ etc type storage dilemmas.
Easy to install, good quality, very sturdy on the wall despite holding 10+ jackets (some of which are very heavy). Great looking organization item, and i love that the hooks flip up if not in use. Easily matches my decor. I plan to buy another for my office.

Great Product!We recently moved into a much smaller home than we previously owned and were looking for a place to hang our coats (no coat closet either!). This hook system was perfect. Great hooks - great lookThese hooks are great. Easy to install and well made. The hooks hold heavy items without a problem and for tight spaces the hooks fold in when not in use so there is a very low profile. We have them in each of our kids rooms and by the back door for visitor coats.

Unobtrusive, useful and loved by allI bought two racks with five hooks in Expresso and placed them behind my front door (one rack two feet above the other). We quite frequently have many guests and this has been the perfect solution for coats since our hall closet is not very close to the front door--and is nearly full with the coats of our large family. Everyone who uses these hooks comments on how nice they look and how clever that the hooks fold in when not in use. This is my favorite Container Store product. I would recommend it to anyone!

Sturdy, space saver with styleWe replaced a clunky coat rack with two of these hook racks in the front entrance of our home. We put one at adult height and one at kid height. They have opened up a lot of space, look great, and are easy enough for my 3-year old to use. Great buy!

If the door is flat as opposed to panel it would probably work. You install the two screws which are included, into the wall or door surface and the back has two “keyhole” type openings that fit over the screw head.
