Can I put six tall inserts into a medium tote, put pencils in the inserts, and still put lid on tote?
I am thinking of this item for storing my children's writing supplies for school: markers/pencils/pens/highlighters/etc. So would need to fit a number 2 pencil in the insert AND still be able to put lid on it.

The height of the medium tote is 7 1/4" so it will only accommodate pencils no taller than that dimension.
