So far, so goodI received this as a gift. I previously bought the Kohler Automatic Soap Dispenser and had all the problems; leaking soap, draining the battery, etc. However, when it worked, I LOVED it. I have had this for about a month and so far it's working well. I am using the Simple Human soap with it, and plan on using regular soap in the future. I will update at six months. :)

Tried 2, both were unsatisfactoryI loved the idea of this, but the first one I got didn't do the "variable" dispensing. No matter how high i placed my hand, the most soap dispensed which is wasteful. Container store happily exchanged it, with us hoping that was just an isolated case. The 2nd one leaked, and then eventually also didn't dispense "variably" so 2 strikes on that one. Again, the wonderful Container store kindly let me exchange it for one of the older models that doesn't have the variable feature, and thank goodness the older model is working well.

Stainless FinishThis dispenser is a nice size, has a solid feel and looks to be well made. I like the idea of a touch-less soap dispenser in my kitchen.
I'm a designer, so aesthetics are important to me. My goal has been to find a dispenser that coordinates with my chrome fixtures. Unfortunately, this one does not. The brushed finish is pronounced and the color is a warm silver, almost like brushed nickel.
If this dispenser becomes available in a chrome finish in the future, I will order one.

AWESOMEI have only had this a little while but I love it. I don't have to worry about touching my soap dispenser when I have food on my hands. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
That's what it looks like and feels like to me so I'd say yes, but I'm a consumer, not the manufacturer, so if that is really important to you, keep checking. I can tell you I LOVE it - WAY better than any others on the market I have tried.

How long does a full charge last?

I can’t say exactly, but I have this in my kitchen, use it multiple times a day, and it lasts long enough (months) that I forget where I put the charger almost every time.

Can I use any dish soap with pump or do I need to use simple human brand?

Our simplehuman 9 oz. Rechargeable Sensor Soap Pump can dispense most any liquid soap, lotion or hand sanitizer. (Not intended for use with soaps with exfoliants or beads.)
