Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great veritcal bike hook! We bought 2 of these and installed them in our garage. They worked great! It looked funny to have the two bikes sitting on the side wall thought. In retrospect, I think I would have preferred the kind where the bike is flat against the wall.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to use Sounded like a great idea to hang my bikes up on the wall. This product does that. However, it is very difficult to lift the bikes up and get them on the hooks. Only for strong adults.

Community Q&A

I have a beach cruiser with deep rims. Between the rim and the tire, the depth is 3 inches. Will I be able to get that into the hook (between the J part of hook and the wall? The tires themselves are not any wider than a mountain bike's.

Asked by: Val13
Yes, you should be able to. The dimensions between the J part of the hook and the wall are approximately 4-3/4". Thank you for your question. We hope this helps.

What is the widest tire the hook can accommodate?

I have a mountain bike with 2.8 in. tires.
Asked by: LHDC
This hook should work for a bike with tires that size.

Any feature that helps lifting the bike up 6-1/2 feet to hang it?

I really like the idea of vertically storing bikes (we have four) but if it is too much trouble to hang it and take it down, I won't use it. I don't see anything to address this need. What's the story?
Asked by: WebPoppy
I would say it depends on how heavy your bike is, and how strong (and tall) you are. Mine are hanging about 6' off the floor, and I'm 5'2". My road bikes are easy because they are around 17 pounds, but my mountain bike is much heavier at about 30 pounds, and I have a little harder time hanging it on a vertical hook like this one (I have a different make, one that pivots, but it is similar otherwise). However, even though I am a woman and not very strong in upper body, am over 60 yrs old, I can just manage it. So if you are a little taller, 6 1/2' off the floor would be do-able if your bike is not very heavy and you are reasonably strong.

Is 1 of these hooks enough for one bike and is the bike stable with one hook or should 2 per bike be planned?

Asked by: MyExperienceWithIt
One hook is enough.

Container Stories
Before & After Spaces

Stephanie and her family (husband John and kids Allie and John) are fortunate enough to have a sizable Houston basement- nearly 2000 square feet! However, the frequently used space was very unorganized and had become a dumping ground for a myriad of items. Also, Stephanie and her family suffered a terrible flood in the space recently. Because precious items were stored in the space and not in weathertight totes, she was very intent on making sure the space was organized, and precious treasures were stored and protected on higher ground.
