Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst design - cannot be mounted directly to wall This model falls right off the wall as the design is horrible. I bought this at a store, picked up two for our bikes. One happened to be this model and the other was slightly different, it had a built in brace underneath the hook so the weight was distributed on the wall. This model comes right out of the wall! There is no brace. DO NOT BUY THIS if you are mounting to the wall without the track.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from strong, great design, great price We've had these in our one-car garage for more than 3 years for adult and kids' bikes. Easy to install in garage studs and get bikes off the floor without using a lot of space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Freeing up space We boutht these bike racks to free up space in the garage. With four bikes in the one car garage, there was no room for the car. We now have two walls dedicated for bikes, which are placed one above the other. It is so nice having a place to put the car.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vintage bikes as art? Recently I found an old Red Rider bike with training wheels. I thought it would make a great piece of art for one of our rooms themed in mid-century decor. I wanted to hang the bike from the wall to give a 3D effect. The elfa system worked great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for small spaces I have a small unfinished basement and this little hanger did the trick to help me get the bicycle out of the middle of the floor. I was able to mount this on a stud in an unfinished wall by the water heater and then slide the bike into the nook. It takes up much less space than using the kickstand.

Is there a way to prevent this from folding up?

When removing something from this hook it constantly starts folding up as I lift the bike making it very difficult to take down. Is there something I can use to prevent this?
Asked by: CMurray
It will move slightly, but please make sure the rack is locked all the way down for minimum movement.

Would this hold a Bob single Jogging stroller? How about a Bob double jogging stroller?

Asked by: KMPQC
At 12-3/8" in width the Elfa Utility Horizontal Bike Rack can hold most strollers, including Bob, when installed directly into the stud. Another option would be the Elfa Utility Wide Ladder Hook.

What type of screws comes with this?

After moving, I can't seem to locate the original screws that came with this. What type would be suitable replacements?
Asked by: Elizabeth82
These will need to be installed into a wall stud, so we'd recommend either our wood screws, sheet metal screws, or masonry screws, depending on the type of wall construction.

Will this be long enough to place kid's bike with training wheels?

Asked by: DesertSun
Our elfa utility Horizontal Bike Rack can support a bike frame hanging 9-1/8" to 11-7/8" from the wall. We suggest our elfa utility Vertical Bike Hook for storing a bicycle with training wheels as an alternative.

Can the hook work with a ladies cruiser

My wife's cruise has a sloping frame so there is no horizontal frame for placing on the hooks. Will this work in this case?

Studs needed with elfa?

I need to center a bike on a wall in a space and the stud are not optimally located. Will the utility track alone support the weight of the bike if it doesn't hit a stud? I only intend to hang the bike on it.
Asked by: Skatrenah
Our elfa Horizontal Bike Rack must be mounted into a stud or on a utility Track. Mounting it directly into dry wall is not recommended. Thanks!
