My pantry door is only 71" tall, will this work? If not, is there another product that will?

This is designed for standard 80” tall doors. However, the mounted standard can be cut to accommodate other size doors. It would need to be cut to 2.25” shorter than the door height. Our store associates can do this in store, or you can call us at 1-888-CONTAIN (266-8246) Monday through Saturday, 9 AM – 7 PM and Sunday, 9 AM – 6 PM (Central Time). Are smaller baskets?
My closet doors are half doors - so I would need baskets that are only a foot or so long. Are there different baskets available or a custom solution? Thank you.

How thick of a door can the rack fit over?

The residential over the door hooks included with our Elfa Utility Bathroom Door & Wall Rack kit accommodate doors up to 1-3/8" thick.
Elfa Utility Commercial Over the Door Hooks (sold separately) are available and accommodate doors up to 1-3/4" thick.

What are the sizes of the baskets? Is this suitable as a vertical garden on the outside of a balcony door (glass with a brushed stainless frame)?
My son & daughter-in-law have a tiny, third-floor balcony. The small scale bench I got them takes up the floor space (they are both very tall, so need all the legroom they can get). They are not allowed to hang or clip anything to the balcony rail (which runs along two sides) or bolt anything to the walls. There is a large window behind the bench. The door is the only place where they can grow anything (it opens in). Is this rack strong enough and weatherproof enough to use as a vertical garden? What size are the baskets? Thx!
I think the plants will also look great from inside the steel-framed, glass door when it's closed. They would use plastic pots or line the baskets and plant directly in them. I like that the baskets can be lifted off so the door can be cleaned when needed. Thx again. I'm really hoping this solution works.

Our elfa utility Door & Wall Rack components are made from epoxy-bonded steel. They're not suitable for outdoor use or for prolonged contact with damp or wet contents. Consider our Urbio Magnetic Modular System Components (shown below) - they were originally created for urban gardening as well as general organization.
