Super convenient and really helps to keep the smaller things organized in your closet. I personally don't use it for sweaters, but I like to put my workout clothes (shorts, sports bras, etc.) there so it's front and center. It's also pretty sturdy as long as you don't overload it and make the shelf too heavy. Bought it with the drawer and it helps to keep things hidden and clean

Too small forty needsThis storage bag is of very good quality. It, unlike man others, has very good shelf support. It would have been perfect, but I found that 12” square is just too small to comfortably store the tee shirts, exercise wear, and nightgowns, for which it was purchased. I would have to fold things just too small. I now realize that that the perfect size would be 16” square. It would be great if The Container Store had that option. I think it would be a very good seller. And the search goes on....

Cannot handle any weightThe 2 hanging organizers I purchased both split at the seams where the metal hangers attach to the fabric. These organizers cannot handle any sort of weight - and certainly not the weight of sweaters!

Overall Great One Exception Incorrect DimensionsOverall another great find at the container store. But I did find the overall width of the hanging storage organizer is 11" and not the 12" as in the description. Be ready to refold all the clothes to fit if you're replacing an older hanging organizer.

Excellent for Extra Storage In RV/TrailerI purchased this item for our family Trailer for the summer vacations and camping. Master Closet RevampI don't have much shelf space in my closet and I didn't want to bag or store my sweaters in a box somewhere else, so I saw these on their website and I liked the pictures they had with them on display to give you an idea. Totally gave me inspiration to redo my closet and I really like it. Makes the sweaters look organized but still accessible. Although, I don't have 24 sweaters, so I can't attest to how much it can fit, it did fit a couple of pull overs, sweats and jackets that I have.

Ideal for Small Space ClosetsIn my effort to become more minimalistic I have become more creative in how I use common items. This three compartment hanging organizer is being used as my storage for underwear and socks. I use other boxes from Container Store to house socks (dress socks in one and every day socks in another) and underwear. I even have have one storage box for my belts. This product is sturdy, easy to use and good looking in my closet. It is efficient and easier than a dresser or lingerie chest. Keeps thing organized and current. I don't hang onto old, torn or ill fitting items. There is no room for overflow. It now gets tossed out quickly. I love this piece in my closet.

Good quality, product as describedI purchased this organizer for my husband's closet mostly because the dimensions exactly fit the extra hanging space he had and we wanted to get him more room for some folded items. We purchased this in store and like this slightly darker color (as opposed to the other fabric this comes in) because it doesn't stand out so much in a closet full of dark clothes. Product is sturdy and quality seems great.

There are only 2 problems with this organizer. The 1st is the smell. I don't know what smell it is, but it was really strong (& not in a good way) when I took it out of the packaging. After leaving it to air out a couple of days, the smell wasn't as bad but was still there. The other problem I'm not sure if it was the organizer or the sweater drawers I also purchased. I purchased 2 sweater drawers to use with this organizer (which also had the same bad smell). When I inserted the drawers, 1 drawer was a tight fit with no opening at the top of it in the organizer & the other had about 1" gap at the top of it in the organizer. The organizer can be manipulated in a way to even this out, so it wasn't a major issue. But either the organizer or the sweater drawers had inconsistent measurements.

Strong & StylishI was afraid that these might make my closet look a little college-ish, but I actually really like the look and utility of this hanging sweater organizer. Best ConstructionThis organizer is the best one I have found in 20 years. The more structured shelving helps to keep it from sagging and my clothes stay folded and organized. With others the sagging shelves would cause one cube to sag into the one below. It would look very unorganized. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great item with many usesI love this product as I have used it in many different ways. I have several of them in the house. One of my sons uses it for his shirts. My husband has one in his closet and uses it in the same way. I have one in my closet and I use it for my handbags. I am thinking of getting another for my summer tee shirts. I find it is stronger than some of the other ones on the market. Love it and highly recommend it!!!

Great storage unit for sweatersI have owned a few of these...had to buy a new one because my mom took my other one! They are great for folded up sweaters (so they don't get those horrible "Hanger shoulders."), heavy winter scarves, hats, gloves, socks, you name it! I absolutely love this and it actually saves space because you are stacking and not taking up so many hangers. In my future home I will own one in each closet!

A Good CompromiseThis is a good, cheap way to add shelves to your closet. If you don't mind losing 12 inches of hanging space, then just hang it up and you've got shelves that will fit sox, underwear, t-shirts, etc. You have to accept that it's not very sturdy and the individual shelves will sag (they are cardboard covered by cloth). But for $20, it's a great stop-gap measure until you can buy more substantial and robust shelves!

Absolutely ExcellentI originally bought this product to act as a substitute dresser (I just moved into the city on a very small budget, and have decent closet space). I installed it immediately after I returned home, and was very pleased.
The following day I ran an errand to a similar store, and saw the hanging storage shelf product I had just bought at The Container Store, for $5 less. I couldn't be sure that it was the exact same, but it looked like it could do the same job (and obviously I thought I was getting the best deal: saving $5 and a trip). BUT I WAS WRONG. When I returned home and hung up my new hanging shelf (from this other store) I regretted my purchase. The fabric was thin, and the levels of the shelves were not reinforced. Placing anything on this new hanging shelf made it sag down, and decreased the visibility of what was on that shelf. Once I saw the two shelves hanging side by side, it was clear- I packed back up the newer (inadequate) shelf that I had saved $5 on, and returned it to the store.
I then went Back to The Container Store and purchased the original hanging shelf, (telling the cashier all about it). No regrets since.
My closet looks great, and the quality of these hanging shelves are excellent. Truly one of the best investments I've made in organization (and they were only $20 each!)

just what I was looking for!Instead of having an expensive closet organizer 'build' a sweater cabinet, I tried this hanging sweater bag. And I am very pleased.
What are the square panels made out of? The shelves have a strong smell and I want to wash them but if the panels are cardboard it will ruin them.

The reinforcement material is cardboard. We do not recommend putting in washer. You should 1) vacuum the dust off the product (2) Spot clean with a damp cloth. Thank you for your question. We hope this helps!

Why does this product contain phthalates?
We purchased a few of the 3-cube hanging organizers and drawers in store. There weren't any of the 6-compartment hanging organizers in store. When I went to order this product through your website, I received the California warning about phthlates. This was pretty surprising considering it appears to be a linen (and not plastic) product. Do you have any additional information? Was this just an error through the website, or does this product actually contain phthalates?
