Rated 2 out of 5 by from Way too small for Men’s Shoes First and foremost, this is a quality shoe rack from a construction standpoint. I was replacing a cheap plastic rack that held maybe 18 pairs. I was excited as I put the rack together and mounted it on the door, but was quickly disappointed when I saw that there was no way my men’s size 13 shoes were going to stay on the rack. Even at a size 9 or 10 it would be doubtful. So again, extremely well built, but I won’t be able to use it. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shoe rack ever I have tried many different shoe storage options for my narrow closet. I thought I would use this rack in its back of the door configuration, but decided it would work better on the wall. Easy to put together and easy to install. Takes up way less space than other shoe storage systems I've tried and fits a lot of shoes/sandals, sneakers... Very pleased with the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Shoe Organizer Rack Perfect shoe rack! Easy to put together and hangs on my closet door. It does have an option to mount to the wall, however, I don't have any wall space in my closet. Tip for when you're putting this together... is to make sure the shelves are slanting downward, as pictured. I believe it's to prevent the shoes from falling off when you close the closet door. It will only fit two pairs of tennis trainer shoes on one shelf and if you have a lot of pointy toe shoes, these are slightly too long and will not fit perfectly when you have it installed on your closet door. I'm a size 9 in most shoes, and I have a pointy toe pair that's slightly too long, but fit slightly slanted on the shelf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect to hang on wall You can buy one of these at your local discount store but it will look cheep. This one looks good and able to customize for boots or shoes by leaving off a bar here and there. This color is appealing to both woman, men and children

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay ........but kind of a bummer! This rack is nice - I was very excited about it. I opted to install on a wall inside my closet instead of on a door. It's easy to put together. Mine was also bent slightly (or not flush as others have said) but since it's screwed into the wall that isn't an issue. However - I am super bummed that this will not, in fact, hold 36 pairs of shoes. I wear a size 10 (womens) and can only get two pairs plus one shoe on one shelf. I would recommend that they widen this product by about one or two inches. Additionally, most of my heels come up higher on my ankle, or have an ankle strap, and the space between the shelves does not accommodate. I had to alternate heels and flats on the shelves, which conflicts with my need for perfect organization! Obviously, the size 10 shoes also stick out quite a bit from the shelf too. It will serve a purpose but is not exactly what I was hoping for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from not flush i assembled, dissembled, reassembled many times. every time i end up with the same result... its not even. only three legs with be flush with the surface while the other is stuck 3" in the air. i checked the instructions to make sure i didnt swap any pieces, yet its still the same. it is also impossible to close my door with the hooks... unless i want to push the hooks down and pull at the same time every time i wish to open and close my door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sorely Disappointed & In Need of a Solution Sigh. I had hoped for the best. However, I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before making my purchase. The rack seems poorly constructed and flimsy. Even though I never completely filled it up with shoes, the brackets over hanging the door bent. We reclamped them several times, but they kept bending. I was afraid it would fall off one day while I was at work and hurt the door/ paint job. I eventually had to remove the rack from my door and am seeking a new solution. Even if I somehow added clamps over the original clamps, it would never hold 36 shoes. Frustrating. :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY disappointed...not for larger shoes I bought two of these hoping to organize our shoes properly. My husband wears men's size 10 and I wear women's size 11. Our shoes do not fit. They are too long and fall off the rack. Perhaps the racks work OK for kids' shoes or for small adult shoes. 36 pairs is an exaggeration for any size normal adult shoes. I had no trouble with assembly or fastening to the door. One of the top brackets bent somehow and took some effort to bend back. A bit flimsy. A good amount of clearance at the tops and bottom of the door is needed. Tight fitting doors are not suitable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Rack! As advertised except my sneakers don't quite fit 3 pairs to a row. I can get 2 pairs easily and sometimes one more shoe. That said, it's a sturdy rack, looks good and works way better than the fabric with pockets I was using. Assembly required and be sure to note which way the rows face. I put it all together backward and had to re-do it. Not hard, just took time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty good, but not made for men Easy to assemble, though one pre-assembled part came assembled incorrectly. Pretty solid too. Biggest issue is that the racks are only 6" deep, which might be fine for women's shoes but men's shoes will then stick out another 6". This means that most men's shoes will want to fall off. The only thing keeps our shoes in place is that because of the angle, the toe is somewhat wedged in place. You can also try putting the shoes at an angle, but that doesn't really solve the problem. So, overall it's a great rack for women's shoes, and just okay for men's.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just awful I could not be more disappointed with this shoe rack. After taking 45 minutes to assemble the thing (correctly and per the instructions), the rack does not sit flush with the door causing problems both opening and closing said door. The brackets used to hang the door are extremely flimsy - like, you're able to bend them with your hand, flimsy - and have already warped after holding the rack up for a grand total of 15 minutes, causing the rack to be even more unstable. I live in a very small space and have used over the door hanging storage for quite some time with zero issue, however I am paying for that greatly now with this poorly made piece of garbage. I am so frustrated I don't even want to return this mess, as it means wasting another 45 minutes of my life pulling this apart. If you're still not convinced, fitting 36 pairs of shoes is quite the stretch. To do this, you will need to fit 3 pairs of shoes on each shelf. I wear a size 6 womens and can not fit 3 pairs of sneakers or flats on a shelf without having to turn a pair sideways. Considering my feet are on the extremely small side of the spectrum, this does not bode well for anyone with somewhat normal sized feet. So unlesss you're buying this for your 4 year old who won't mind waking up in the middle of the night when the entire rack falls off his or her door, I wouldn't waste your time or money on this product. I usually swear by the container store, and am shocked that they would sell such a poorly constructed and sorry excuse for a shoe rack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this shoe rack! This is my first time buying a shoe rack, and I love it! The metal is very secure and my shoes are able to fit securely on the racks. It took a little longer than the recommended 30 minute installation time, but still well worth the time and money for this purchase! And it's on sale!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST OVER THE DOOR ORGANIZER EVER!!! I almost didn't buy this product because some of the reviews! Thank goodness I didn't listen to them.....their poor results have to be the result of user error because this organizer works great. I'm guessing they put the racks in the wrong direction. I wear a size 6.5 and was able to fit more than 36 pairs on this organizer. So HAPPY with this purchase especially since I got it on sale!! This product deserves 5 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice shoe rack! Easy to put together and easy on the eyes. My new closet is small so I wanted a shoe rack that looked nice but held a lot of shoes. This fits the bill! Almost didn't buy because of the other reviews, but they clearly didn't understand how to put it together. It was quite easy and straightforward.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does Not Work I assumed that my shoes fell off the rack because of the momentum from opening and closing the door. As a result, I mounted the rack onto the wall versus hanging on the door. No, this rack does not function. The shelves are positioned too closely to the wall. Therefore, the heel of my shoes doesn't have enough space to provide a grip onto the rack. Result? Every time I pull a shoe from the rack, maybe 6 fall off (minimum). Now I'm annoyed that I drilled a hole in my wall for a product that simply does not function. Looks nice, function fails.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good rack to hang on wall I purchased this rack to hang on the wall in my closet. Unfortunately, it was only after I hung it and my shoes without heels were sliding off that I looked at the photo on the box and realized that I had to disassemble it and turn each of the 10 shelves around. Fortunately, because it was already wall mounted, it didn't take too long. (For assembly, I recommend using a ratcheted screw driver and bit instead of the tool that comes with the package.) I wear a size 8 shoe and most of my shoes fit 3 across. My sneakers are wide so I only got 2 across but can put slippers or other small shoes in between them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work, shoes fall off Very disappointed with this product! The shoes continue to fall off of the rack, and as they fall even more come down. Will be taking it down as soon as I find a replacement product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overdoor Shoe Rack Gunmetal I purchased this product with high hopes this would be a nice addition to the back of a closet door in my new house for shoe overflow storage. That said, I am sitting on the floor typing this after giving up after over 30 minutes of installation. I am so frustrated that I stopped and grabbed my computer to write this review. This is honestly one of the poorest quality designed items I have picked up from The Container Store in quite some time and I am sorely disappointed. The problem is where the hex screw attaches to the shoe shelf and then through to the side frame. The hole for the screw in the side frame is simply too big and does not allow for a tight connection with the screw -- you can rattle the shelf right out. I would absolutely NOT recommend this and will be going back to their trusty elfa over the door solution which is much sturdier (and easier to assemble).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe Organizer This is exactly as it appears in the photo and holds 36 pairs of shoes as stated. It was easy to put together and hangs beautifully on the door. I would have preferred off-white or white plastic coverings on the hooks to make them obscure as most homes have painted woodwork these days, but the rack is functional and great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product So far its holding together nice. I am a size 7 in womens, and can fit 3 pairs on shoes, more if they are flats or sandals. My high top/booties were alittle too tall, but putting them in on an angle works just fine. The assembly says itll take 30mins. Took me about 40 in total, inclusing putting it up and adding my shoes to it. The hooks that grip the bottom where abit lose. In the elastic part there are two openings, I moved the hooks into the same loop with the door hooks, problem solved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great expectations meet great product I was hoping this would clear my closet floor and it absolutely did. It holds all my shoes and the shoes of my boyfriend as well. I wear a size 9 usually, and the rack fits there pairs of shoes per rack, two for my boyfriend (larger feet but I'm not sure what size shoe). Depending on your home's set-up, the rack may limit how far your door opens. It's a balance between space between the rack and the doorknob and how far your door will open if your door is in a corner. I love the product and I am more than happy with the purchase. Simple assembly and mounting, too. Very pleased, overall.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I wish it worked Once I built my shoe rack, it looked very promising. Out of the 36 shoes that "can fit" on the shoe rack (this would only happen if they are all small) I have 20. My shoe rack has been over my door for two nights and last night it broke. The hooks that hold it onto the top have bent downwards suggesting that my shoes were too heavy. But if the product promises 36, breaking it at 20 is terrible. I'm going to try and mount it to the door instead but I am very disappointed.

Unfortunately, we do not carry this style in a 96" size. We would recommend a product that does not require being attached at the bottom of the door.

What is total length including the wall mounted harware?

I see that the product is 77 1/2" H. Does this include the wall mounted hardware? I have a client that has a small space and I need to know how many inches the wall hardware adds to the total height.

The actual measurement of the rack itself is 74" tall. The hardware adds 3-1/2".

What is the assembled depth?

The dimension say it's only 6" deep. That seems really shallow, especially for men's shoes. Or is the vertical bar 6", and the "shelf" sticks out more? If so, how deep from the outer edge to the wall?
