Finally an over-the-door shoe rack with a nice presentation, is properly wall compatible, and stays intact! We have a large number of shoes to accommodate in a smaller space, so we purchased 4 of these. They're perfect. The best features of these racks are that they can properly be installed on either the door or mounted on the wall + they remain fully intact where other models have bars slipping out and tape that doesn't hold the rack against the wall. Nice, clean, functional presentation.

I was hoping this would clear my closet floor and it absolutely did. It holds all my shoes and the shoes of my boyfriend as well. I wear a size 9 usually, and the rack fits there pairs of shoes per rack, two for my boyfriend (larger feet but I'm not sure what size shoe). Depending on your home's set-up, the rack may limit how far your door opens. It's a balance between space between the rack and the doorknob and how far your door will open if your door is in a corner. I love the product and I am more than happy with the purchase. Simple assembly and mounting, too. Very pleased, overall.

The rack cannot hold men's shoes, only women or children.

I received this product as a Christmas gift. After the initial disappointment of not being able to fit it to my closet door (which is a standard size), I tried to fit it to my bedroom door. Not only did it splinter the wood around the door frame, but it started bending after putting only 22 pairs of shoes on it. Extremely disappointed with this product and would not recommend it.

I purchased this product with high hopes this would be a nice addition to the back of a closet door in my new house for shoe overflow storage. That said, I am sitting on the floor typing this after giving up after over 30 minutes of installation. I am so frustrated that I stopped and grabbed my computer to write this review.
This is honestly one of the poorest quality designed items I have picked up from The Container Store in quite some time and I am sorely disappointed. The problem is where the hex screw attaches to the shoe shelf and then through to the side frame. The hole for the screw in the side frame is simply too big and does not allow for a tight connection with the screw -- you can rattle the shelf right out.
I would absolutely NOT recommend this and will be going back to their trusty elfa over the door solution which is much sturdier (and easier to assemble).

This is exactly as it appears in the photo and holds 36 pairs of shoes as stated. It was easy to put together and hangs beautifully on the door. I would have preferred off-white or white plastic coverings on the hooks to make them obscure as most homes have painted woodwork these days, but the rack is functional and great.

So far its holding together nice. I am a size 7 in womens, and can fit 3 pairs on shoes, more if they are flats or sandals. My high top/booties were alittle too tall, but putting them in on an angle works just fine. The assembly says itll take 30mins. Took me about 40 in total, inclusing putting it up and adding my shoes to it. The hooks that grip the bottom where abit lose. In the elastic part there are two openings, I moved the hooks into the same loop with the door hooks, problem solved.

Once I built my shoe rack, it looked very promising. Out of the 36 shoes that "can fit" on the shoe rack (this would only happen if they are all small) I have 20. My shoe rack has been over my door for two nights and last night it broke. The hooks that hold it onto the top have bent downwards suggesting that my shoes were too heavy. But if the product promises 36, breaking it at 20 is terrible. I'm going to try and mount it to the door instead but I am very disappointed.
