In order to avoid damage from salt and salt staining, when is the best time to apply boot rescue? And will it work on white salt stains?

BootRescue is best used on fresh salt stains to prevent the damage which can occur if the stains are left for any period of time, such as stripping color leather or suede. It's still beneficial to use on old stains. Just be prepared that once the white of the salt stain is removed, you may see that the color underneath has faded from the salt damage.

All fabrics ?

Will these be effective on "suede" boots? Such as the Land's End boots I wish I had but never treated pre-wear ? The boots still look ok but were roughed up a bit last year during Boston's oversalted, over chemically-treated streets and sidewalks during our 6 months of plowed macadam/snow and slush. Of course they are primarily created for use on quality leather footwear but here's hoping to the product having a positive effect on other fabrics as well. Thanks!
