Awesome tool for the height challengedI love this garment hook. It is extremely easy to use and very sturdy even when fully extended. I moved to a house with some really high clothes rods and it reaches them very easily.

Great for hard to reach blind pulls, too!We moved into new office space and quickly discovered that once we lowered the blinds, none of us could reach the pull ring to raise them again. A big helpThis garment hook has really helped me to make the most of my closet space, as I am now able hang items on the higher rack that was, before this purchase, completely out of my reach (I am 5'4"!) So ConvenientI purchased this item when I rearranged my closet and moved the rod up to the top in order to gain more storage space. It makes it pretty easy to hang and unhang garments from the closet rod without the use of a stool. I have not used the telescoping feature because it is not necessary if you are of average height and have closets of average height.
Can you provide a estimate of the diameter of the little round balls at the ends of the 'legs' of the hook portion?

The single finial on one side of the end of our Telescoping Garment Hook is approximately 7/16" in diameter; the pair of finials on the other side are each approximately 5/16" in diameter.

how deep is the actual hook?
In other words, could it grab and lower my attic stair step?
I think the step is about 4" wide.

Will it will hang on the clothes rod when not in use?
It doesn't look like the hook is big enough in the picture to hang securely from the rod.

My rods are rectangular in shape rather than round. The tool has a hook on either side at the top, one larger than the other. Using the larger-sized hook, I can hang it from my closet rod ~ so it is handy and there when I need it.
