This hanger gives a firm grip without leaving marks on clothing, is very sturdy and well-made; and the light cedar scent is an added bonus.

What kind of materials "grips" the trousers?

I have been looking for clamps and all of the ones I can find use felt on the inside of the clamps to help keep the fabric in place. Are these the same?

No, our Cedar Trouser Clamp features a grooved interior surface to grip the fabric of the trousers or pants. The interior of the clips of our Cedar Skirt Hanger features foam rubber cushions to gently but firmly hold skirts in place.

Is it the same on the inside?

iLOVE how the other colors in this style all work to hang my pants with a perfect grip! iAm wondering if the inside of this cedar clamp style hanger is the same mechanism as the other Container Store ones that iLOVE!???
