Protect your precious breakables from bumps, tips and jostles with our ingenious Museum Gel. Completely removable, reusable and non-toxic, the gel is a type of liquid plastic that reacts to the size and weight of the object being secured to create a customized, secure bond between the object and display surface. Because it's clear, it's perfect for securing delicate transparent items like glass or crystal. It's especially helpful in households with children or cats, and for those who live in areas prone to earthquakes. To use, take a small amount of gel and roll into balls or strips. Apply several to the bottom of the object, then gently press the object down on a display surface that's impervious to water or moisture (like glass, tile, metal, sealed stone or some varnished woods). For opaque items, try our Museum Putty.

Works GreatRead the directions because it is different than anything I have ever used. I used it to hold the lamp shade in place on my floor lamp. Worked great, very stable now.

Solved my problemI have an antique hutch with loose glass panes. Every time we walked in front of it, the glass would rattle ... the sound was annoying, and I was afraid that the glass would eventually break.
I saw this stuff and tried it out -- used tiny amounts around the glass, at the leading. You can't see it, and it keeps the glass panes in place. No more rattle!
I love this stuff.

Random MagicThis stuff works for everything- I even used it to affix a bumper sticker to the inside of a leased car window. Friends come over and try to pick up a vase off of the counter, thinking I've lost it and superglued it on, but nope, this gel really is that strong and versitile. You'll be glad you got it. Plus, a little goes a long way, so share some!

Multipurpose at home!Museum gel may be the best at home...secure small bowls to larger trays for hors D'oeuvres, candles in "non-candle holders", etc. You be the guide for anything you want to stand still (except children.)
I use it often and am now giving them for hostess gifts. I would much rather get something useful than one I must "re-gift".

Great productThis product is awesome. You can use it for a number of different things in your home and it only takes a very small amount to work.
Of course it works for its stated purpose, but do you have pictures on the wall that are always getting crooked? Try to little balls on each of the bottom ends - holds the picture in place perfectly. Want to display a plate leaning against your backspash in the kitchen? Just a two little balls set on the counter, let them set up, then set your plate up and it won't slide down and break and know one but you will notice the clear balls of gell holding the plates in place.
It is a must have!

Saved my breakables from an inquisitive cat!Amazing stuff if you have a cat that climbs around your breakable items. I didn't believe it would work, but I needed to keep pretty items on the marble counter, because my house is for sale. I've got a very energetic young cat, who gets into EVERYTHING, and he broke one of the glass canisters the very first night it was on the counter. The museum gel holds so tight, that it feels like the canisters are part of the counter - the cat could push on them with all his might, and they won't come off! Fortunately, it comes with instructions on how to remove, and I tested it - you really can get it safely off. And, the gel really is invisible! A little goes a long way. Every cat owner should have this stuff!

Fantastic ProductI have used this product for years. I have a very old urn that was my Grandmother's and I was always afraid either the kids or the cat would knock it over. No worry with this product. It lasts forever, yet is easy to remove if desired. Best of all, it does not harm furniture.

Worked greatUsed this item to fasten glasses to a tray for a play. It worked great and appears to be reusable. Quite a bit more expensive than the colored version, but great if you need invisible coverage.
Will this gel work on painted wooden window sills?
I saw the note that it works on non-porous surfaces, but I don't know how to tell if this paint is porous.
Asked by: JaneDoe
We recommend Clear Museum Gel for use on impenetrable objects and surfaces only. When we say "impenetrable", we mean completely impervious to moisture or water; it must be waterproof.Objects and surfaces considered completely waterproof are glass, crystal, porcelain, Formica, tile, polished granite, certain varnished wood, or metal. Use on other surfaces (such as painted wood) can cause staining which may not be removable.

Can this be used on nice wood furniture, will it leave a mark?

Our Clear Museum Gel is safe for most furniture finishes, but we recommend testing it on an inconspicuous area to see how your furniture reacts before use.

How do you remove a Museum Gel stain from flagstone?
Put a glass object down on our fireplace hearth during remodeling to protect the glass. The object had several spots with Museum Gel on it, as it had been on a pedestal prior to remodeling. Now our hearth is stained--and looks like it has oily spots on it. Help!!
Asked by: KenCookie
Our Clear Museum Gel is very difficult to remove from porous surfaces but for the best results we suggest using either mineral spirits or an adhesive remover — carefully read the instructions for either the mineral spirits or adhesive remover to ensure it won’t damage the stone. You can also test the solution on an inconspicuous section of the stone before applying it to the stains.

What do you about when you want to move the item?
What do you do if you want to move an item that was secured with museum putty? How easy is it to move?
Asked by: BiancaV
To remove an item held in place with our Clear Museum Gel, hold the object firmly at the base and top. Give a gentle twist while lift the object. Do not pull straight up without combining a twisting action to release the lock. Be very careful with the removal of fragile items or brittle stemware as the product sets up a sturdy bond. Once the object is up, you can simply pull off the Clear Museum Gel. You will marvel at how easy it is removed. We suggest you use a larger piece to dab off all the residual material. If you like, you can use a mild dish soap or detergent to clean off any remaining residue.

This product has not been tested to work near a heat source and we cannot predict how it will perform in elevated temperatures.
It's probably no surprise to you that we LOVE a good collection - a little obsession that needs to be displayed or contained. Well, when we heard about the Eye of the Collector exhibit at the Perot Museum in Dallas, we were all in. If you are in town, it's a summer must-see.
